[LIVE] NN COMMUNITY MOCK DRAFT THREAD Round 2

Fooch's Note: This is the third thread for our live community mock draft.  To view thread 1, head here.  To view thread 2, head here.

Here we are folks... Are you ready to draft? Let's get to it.

Make sure to continue to check the board as Fooch will be updating it.

Here are the rules once again:

  • The first thing that will happen is I will announce the team that is on the clock (ex: THE ST. LOUIS RAMS ARE ON THE CLOCK.
  • Once you see that, you will have 4 min's to make your selection (not 5 this time). After the initial announcement that your team is on the clock, you will need to state "HERE" to let everyone know you are here for you selection. If you make it to the three minute mark without stating that, other participants will be able to start giving their opinions of who to select. The consensus will be taken in to consideration and I will then make the selection for you once the clock hits zero. If you are a participant and it is not your turn, please wait for the 3 minute mark to begin with your suggestions.
  • The format will be the same as last time in that the only thing that will be allowed in the subject lines is your team selection. Everything else please comment on in the text box.
  • This is how your team selection should appear: (ex.) "WITH THE 33RD SELECTION IN THE 2010 DRAFT, THE ST. LOUIS RAMS SELECT EVERSON GRIFFIN (DE) USC.
  • Fooch will be updating the board as he did last time. Please pay attention to the board so we don't double up on picks.

WITH THE 33RD PICK IN THE 2010 NFL DRAFT THE ST LOUS RAMS SELECT Jared Odrick (DT) Penn State

Told you they could pick a QB and still end up with a beastly DT.

I kind of wanted to give them Golden Tate, but I needed to prove this point.

What we've got here is a failure to communicate.

by SportsChicken on Mar 13, 2010 1:10 PM PST reply actions

Golden Tate is also taken, but that’s a small detail, lol.

    Tate’s gone though!

Equation= 1,2,2,3,3 is a lot better than 1,1,2,3 in a deep draft, especially when your 1 nets you E berry.

Alex Smith is not a bust, he is a product of poor management and coaching.

by TexansDC on Mar 13, 2010 1:40 PM PST up reply actions

again a tough pick….Damian Williams was sitting there which could help out Freeman. Bowman was also available, but I think the bucs are confident in Geno Hayes. I was also thinking Corey Wotten, but with Barber getting up in age and McCourty having such a good combine, i thought it was time to find someone to groom.

by HaloFanInDC on Mar 13, 2010 1:40 PM PST up reply actions

I kinda can’t believe Williams and Benn are still around, kinda expected them to be gone by now.

by TexansDC on Mar 13, 2010 1:41 PM PST up reply actions

Williams doesn’t project as a LT and most teams have a tough time drafting RTs in the 1st round. I’m not surprised that Benn slipped out of the 1st. While this class might be deep with 2nd and 3rd round talent at the WR spot I don’t think that the 1st round has many candidates

yeah it was a big value pick. I just didn’t see anyone else except for Wootten who would be worth it in this slot. No OL would be worth it here. Ideally I would have traded back and picked up Roger Saffold in the late 2nd.

overall I have to say i’m quite happy with teh Bucs draft. Improved on all three levels of the defense with each player having the opportunity to become a pro-bowler IMO
