Golden Nuggets: Chester Pitts? There's nothing to see here
Last night we had a bit of a mishap with the posting, leading to an erroneous report that the 49ers had signed Chester Pitts. We posted a retraction on it, but not before all sorts of craziness broke loose. The most interesting result was that Chester Pitts actually tweeted denying the report. I posted a retraction post last night and some comments were joking about Ninjames making a McCloughan-like exit. Coincidentally enough, he had a migraine last night and I am handling the links for him this morning. We'll probably have to wait 5 days, or 72 hours, or something like that to clear the air. On to the links!

After the draft..
I’m going to start a ballot for Mooch “Steve Mariucci” to be our GM.. In his interview with the razor “Ralph Barbieri” he talks about how he would be interested in being part of an NFL team again, “but not just any team” only teams that have a good chance at success. Then he goes on talking about other topics and goes back to football and says that it’s the 49ers time to win the division and about his relationship with Jed and about the sudden departure of Scot.
Although he mainly talks about coming back as a coach I felt that it wouldn’t be that much of a long shot for Mooch to come back to the 49ers as the GM..
A lot of you may think my idea is dumb, but I always enjoyed Mooch’s presence with the 49ers and he is very intelligent and it’s always good to have an intelligent GM.
Here is the link for the KNBR page, just scroll down and click on Steve Mariucci’s name to listen to the conversation he had with Ralph…

he still lives here
If this was at all a possibility I think the ball would be in the 49ers FO’s court.
Now about the McNabb rumors..
It can make me a little uneasy thinking about McNabb going to the Rams “if it ever happens” but I think the only way that happens is if the Rams trade their 1st round pick for him and if that is the case I would be more happy than uneasy. Here are my 3 main reasons why.
1. The Rams won’t have a 1st round pick thus leaving one extra player to choose from.
2. The Rams have so many wholes that even with McNabb we will go 2-0 against them.
3. I’d rather play the Eagles at home with Cobb as the starter instead of McNabb.
Maybe those reasons are bogus, but hey you never know :)
I don't get number 1
If rams trade #1, the eagles get it and draft a player…so, there will still be 12 players off the board when we go at 13. no extras.
Man I Tell Ya....
Just reading through the comments on Barrow’s blog, and even Maiocco’s, I honestly wonder how people become so rude and crass. I mean I am a member of a few SB nation blogs where there isnt site decorum, and the comments, while witty and hilarious, are still helpful. But I really wonder how commentators on great sources of information like Barrow’s and Maiocco’s can be so tasteless and inconsiderate of others. It makes me feel pretty good being a member of a pretty darn classy blog like Niner’s Nation.

Never read the comments..
The only ones I ever pay any mind to are the ones where someone asks a question and in a comment below Barrows or Maiocco responds.. the rest of them I’d only read for personal enjoyment like comedy… I do the same thing on Youtube.. I look up videos of Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, or Bill O’ Reilly getting owned by callers or guests on their shows.. It’s awesome..
