Jake Delhomme is being released by the Carolina Panthers; Cromartie traded to Jets
In the first of what will likely be many salary cap related moves, the Carolina Panthers are reportedly planning on releasing quarterback Jake Delhomme tomorrow or later today. Jay Glazer of Fox Sports news says that Delhomme will hit the market as early as tomorrow.
Delhomme is coming off his worst season ever, throwing for only 6.3 yards per attempt and 18 interceptions.
The coaches and management had earlier said that there would be open competition between Matt Moore and Jake Delhomme for the starting job, but that's obviously changed. The first signal that things were due to change was when the Panthers offered a 1st and 3rd round tender to Matt Moore. Delhomme signed a contract extension in 2009 that would've paid him almost $13 million this year.
In other news Cromartie has been traded to the Jets for a 3rd round pick that could turn into a 2nd round pick. More news to come later on that.

I think they’ll make a big push for Michael Vick in preseason. If they draft a QB in the 2nd then maybe not, but I’m thinking they might, especially considering what Vick said on the radio the other day.
A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.
They could go that route also. Possibly even Tebow.

If they go Tebow...
…Carolina’s ticket offices better get ready to work. Tim Tebow…Just. Sells. Tickets.
I think Moore is better than McCoy
Similar players though.
Although Moore just seems better with his footwork and whatnot.

As a Carolinian and a Panthers fan
I don’t see us going after Vick. In fact the things that he said made it less likely to take him. He gave no football reason for wanting to play here except for our laundry. Plus Jerry Richardson will not want the drama of Vick and his reality tv show.
If God came down on Christmas Day
I know exactly what He'd say
He'd say "Oi!" to the punks
and "Oi!" to the skins
but "Oi!" to the world and everybody wins.

There are so many teams...
that really don’t have a great option at QB. One really bad year can’t define a man can it? Maybe a change of scenery will make a difference.

Prediction: Jake Delhomme will take over as the Cardinals QB after Leinert chokes
"Proving 2nd class ownership is profitable"
Prediction: When Jack Delholmme takes over in Arizona, he'll throw 5 INTs in each game versus the Niners
