PrintComcast SportsNet is actually going to be providing a live stream of David Carr's press conference today (12:30pm) down at 49ers headquarters. The general thinking seems to be that Carr sees greater upside in his potential role with the 49ers than with many other teams. We'll see what he has today. And remember that he has not signed anything, so this is more of an informal session.
In considering some of his options, I believe there were reports that he was also going to visit Arizona at some point. One would imagine with the Cardinals' QB situation, Carr would have to be a bit enticed by that as well. Go ahead and use this thread to discuss Carr's press conference.

I'm not understanding
Why is he doing a press conference? has he been signed with the 49ers?

and now doing a press conference ..here and not in NY so sounds like the Magic 8 ball says all signs point to yes.

yeah…most likely. but part of me is a blindly optimistic fan that thinks the pitching staff is strong enough and the defense is good enough to be able to win games.
having said that…o/u 2.5 runs a game for the a’s this year?

Sheets will help anchor that young staff, and if Duke can stay healthy (a big IF) and the A’s defense can play solid all year, they have as good a shot as anyone in the AL Worst. You have to pay, and it’s starting to get on the expensive side, but trust me, once you’ve messed around with illegal streams that shut down just after they shut, and probably infect your PC with malware, you won’t begrudge the cost.

I may be in denial, but I compare what has happened today to feeling nauseous and then finally getting to throw up. You dread it, but when it’s over you realize you’re still alive and finally start to feel better.
I think the F.O. will do a respectable job of filling the holes with experienced veterans in the short term (i.e. – Foote for Dansby, possibly Clark for Rolle – should that happen) and for the long term will continue their drafting excellence by bringing in more DRC’s, Wells’ Campbell’s, etc. (I’m not speaking to those particular positions, just the caliber of players that now fill them).
My disappointment over seeing a lot of the core players leave is quickly being replaced with the excitement of really getting geeked up over the upcoming draft now. Having six picks in the first four rounds will show us what the "new" Cardinals will look like from now until well into the future.
