Justin Fargas ToThe 49ers?
The 49ers have been in contact with the former Oakland Raiders RB. The source said the Fargas fits what the 49ers are looking for in terms of toughness. But how much does Fargas have left at 31? Apparently Fargas will meet with the 49ers on Monday.

I don’t see how this would be any better than the 08 Foster signing.
Fargas is probably better than Coffee, but if he gets 80 touches what is the point?
And he’s still not good enough to take the load if Gore goes down.In that case, shouldn’t Coffee get the carries?
This is a low risk but zero upside signing that blocks the path of a younger guy. If they add a back, he better be a future starter (ie young and upgrade over Coffee) or a speedy compliment. Fargas is neither.

It does to me. While I do agree with what you say (desert fox) Fargas can catch out of the backfield and would be a veteran backup to Gore, if Coffee doesn't do what he needs to. It is also a competition that will push Coffee to work harder adn focus.
What is interesting is will this team pursue Spiller if he is signed? Trading up for Berry is still an option.
