Golden Nuggets: A little QB discussion
Ninjames is out of commission for today's Nuggets so I'm handling them for the day. We've got a random assortment of news coming out today. It's interesting, though, that a lot of the links deal with the quarterback position, whether it be Jimmy Clausen, Nate Davis, or the NFC West QBs as a whole. The QB position will provide a whole assortment of discussion for folks throughout the 2010 season. Every team could have some intrigue: The 49ers have Alex Smith looking to step up and take control with David Carr potentially barking on his heels; the Cardinals have the battle between Matt Leinart and Derek Anderson; the Rams will potentially be adding Sam Bradford; and the Seahawks are trying to figure out their long-term answer with Matt Hasselbeck on the closing end of his career.
As you enjoy the links, don't forget that we'll have a new poll for our Big Board later this morning (7am pacific), and then our irregular open thread at 10am pacific. Enjoy.

That Clausen to the Niners article is pointless now
After Clausen’s workout yesterday I’m willing to bet he ends up an Oakland Raider. Al will finally turn against his instinct to pick Mays, Campbell or JPP and grab Clausen. In doing so he gets his high-profile guy like Russell (Probably even more high profile cause the the ND golden boy) and he’s paying him 1/3rd the salary.
Gimme 1 round!
Clausen
I don’t see him going to Seattle – they gave up a fair amount to get Charlie Whitehurst so must think he’s their future QB.
I don’t think the Niners will use an early pick on a QB. If they weren’t happy with what they had then the Carr signing doesn’t make much sense, and they probably would have made a stronger run at McNabb.
