49ers are in trouble if Ginn sees anytime as a wide receiver
Decent trade to bring in someone proven who can return punts and kicks. The question is was it really wise to trade a fifth rounder for one of the biggest first round busts in NFL history?

You know
Jason Hill has barely played for the 49ers and he only has one less touchdown than Ginn does receiving and he’s appeared more than Hill has.

Because Hill is better.
And will likely beat out Ginn and Jones for the WR3 spot.

That's my thought too
Ginn might make it to the field a couple of plays a game as WR, but the regular #3 guy will be Hill.

Honestly,
If Hill can stay healthy, he should start opposite Crabtree and that Morgan should be the #3. But at any rate, Jones should be the #4 and Ginn the #5.
I still find it funny, though, that a troubled NFL WR has the same value as a return specialist (a 5th rounder).
Bandwagoners are the prostitutes of fandom.
In trouble?
How is this team in trouble if Ginn is used as the 3rd/4th WR in certain sets?
Rays in '08.... Desmond Jennings - the breakout continues.....
I doubt he'll have more than 10 targets this season.

It might be a stretch,
but i think Ginn is going to be a better receiver than DHB. But thats not saying much, considering DHB had twice as many drops as catches…..

Ginn isn’t even close to the biggest 1st round bust in history. In fact the team already knows what it is getting in Ginn. A return guy who could potentially catch a deep pass or two each game, that’s his game. In contrast to Reggie Williams and Mike Williams working out in Seattle (two legitimate 1st round busts) no one has any idea what they will or can do week to week.
Thats just dumb...
This guy is only 25 years old and brings dynamic return skills to the team. We like to run reverses and Ginn will be the go to guy on those plays. Who on our team can burn a guy deep?? Ginn is our deep threat. You can teach better hands… you cant teach speed. He is a great pick up and with a new start IMO could turn into a pretty dam good receiver. I’m not saying amazing but 56 rec 790yards like he did in 2008, I’ll take that alllll day.
Completely disagree
He’s primarily a return man, but he’ll get a legit shot to be a 3 or 4 receiver. And I think he is already ahead of Zeigler on the depth chart (as much as I like Z).
Think he is a good threat
U can’t teach speed and that’s wat he possesses. Return guy he is but I think we can work him in there time to time. He can develop his hands and route running to become a good receiver. He will never draw a double team so he will have his oppurtunities for big plays.
Beat Em To The Punch - Bill Walsh
Funny thing is when people throw out the word bust.
he was not projected as a 9th overall pick and if not for a bad pick, he wouldn’t be considered a bust. A Bust is someone taken where they were suppose to and not panning out. It’s not Ginn’s fault he was drafted there, the same should be said about Alex Smith.

"We're going to get the players we have targeted," Baalke said. "I promise you that."
That's a good point
DHB is in a similar circumstance. He probably should’ve been a 2nd rounder.

or a 5th rounder.....
just saying..

Or not drafted at all
In retrospect of course.

Ginn 2 kick return touchdowns
Wow, this is what I like to see from a returner. Uses agility and speed to get by 3 guys on the first return. Also jukes to miss 2 tacklers on the second return.

This is a completely untrue statement
Miami has been a really bad team the last few years. Ginn should have never been picked that high anyways, not his fault. he has world class speed and will be able to spread the field and allow Crabs and Morgan and Vernon to get open with one on one coverage. He also doesn’t drop everything that is thrown his way. How many guys run under a 4.3 40 and you use a 5th round pick on? I think that this is a bunch of Spiller lovers that hate this cause it takes Spiller off the board!
A 5th rounder is basically nothing
The success rate of 5th rounders is basically the same as 6th or 7th rounders. It’s mostly just a flier pick. It was a smart move to get a guy like Ginn who can contribute for such a small price.

Ginn is the Tazer!
He can run go routes and open things up for Davis and Crabs. He can run an end-around like how rice did, or fake an end-around and Smith can hit a screen or go deep. Bubble screens and slants (balls that are easy to catch) and use his speed to create oportunities to get yards. He can run the wildcat (maybe?) There are many things that he can do that will help this team get an edge on other teams.
