100 in 100: Perrish Cox (99 of 100)
JUST 1 MORE DAY UNTIL THE DRAFT (TOMORROW), AND THEN COVERAGE BEGINS AT 8AM ON THURSDAY...
There aren't a ton of options for the cornerback position outside if the middle rounds. Perrish Cox however could end up being a gem somewhere after the third (potentially). He didn't exactly put up astonishing numbers at Oklahoma State but he did show flashes of being a future capable starter in the NFL someday. Initially I think Cox will start out as a nickel corner and situational player. But we'll get more in to that further down in the piece.
As big as Cox is as a Corner, he steered clear of contact most of the time. He was more known as a ball-hawking corner than anything else. He ended his career with 10 interceptions for the Cowboys but not very many tackles. A majority of the time, he spent covering the opposing teams best wide receivers and did an outstanding job in most cases.
Cox had a very good week of practice leading up to the Senior Bowl in January. He did not do a whole lot in the game but I believe a lot of the scouts that were in attendance at the practices left impressed with Perrish Cox's ability. Cox is one of the players that could jump up on the draft boards or fall back some because of concerns with his physicality... or lack there of.
Below, we'll look a little more in-depth at the young talented former Oklahoma State Corner.
There are some very good illustrations of what Cox is capable of in this reel. It is rather long, but if you have the time and haven't seen much of Perrish Cox, it is definitely worth a look at.

SUMMARY AND PROJECTION:
There are some character concerns with Perrish Cox as he was arrested for speeding and driving on a suspended license. While most look at this as a minor offense, it still shows that Cox potentially lacks self-discipline. His future is up to him though. Talent wise, Cox is very explosive to the ball, has good range, and good lateral movement. He is decent in press-coverage but can get beat sometimes in zone schemes due to making bad choices. Cox is a bit concrete in the hips particularly in his conversion from his back-pedal. He does have the ability to do returns and has done quite well at them. Cox measured at 5'11" (nearly 6'0") and weighed in at 195 lbs at the Combine.
Possibilities -- 3rd Round: Picks 65-98, 4th Round: Picks 99-131.

What are your thoughts on guys with character concerns? Tarell Brown and Josh Morgan both had scrapes with the law, but appear to be model citizens. How much can just be attributed to just being a college kid?
I think that goes to an IQ question...
Is he really stupid enough to throw away his only real chance in life to make 10+ million dollars.
Pacman Jones – definitely stupid enough
Donovan McNabb – definitely not stupid enough
Big Ben – definitely stupid enough
Alex Smith – unless its for tax evasion definitely not stupid enough.
The kid is a college student who right now doesn’t have anything for people to take away from him. He gets paid by being a god on campus. I’d expect the speeding, the suspended license thing makes it questionable. Take a look at his grades, talk to his teachers. If he’s not a moron he won’t risk his NFL career.

Their Head Coach Mike "Imma man, I'm 40" Gundy
didn’t allow him to attend their Pro-Day. Does that answer your question about Cox’s stupidity?
1.Brandon Graham 1.Charles Brown 2. Syd Thompson 3.Torell Troup 4.Robert Johnson 6.Mike Kafka 6.Chris Scott 7.Alex Daniels
Ooooo See didn't have to get to the teacher level
That’s a no go. Did he knock up Gundy’s daughter or something??? Jeez.

I’m not suggestion that he will indefinitely be a problem child, just wanted to point out that it could go one direction or another and teams will possibly have some concern… some teams anyway. Other teams may not care at all.
