So much for Ravens OT Jared Gaither coming to the Niners.
Turns out the trade talk by the Ravens was a ploy to get Gaither to come to spring workouts? I know many of you didn't like having to give up a 2nd rounder for Gaither anyway, but I think it would have made sense. Now what? I don't get the feeling the Niners are going to go after Texans guard Chester Pitts.

Chester Pitts has already met with the 49ers
spent a couple of days with the brass. We gave him an offer—just waiting on his reply

Pitts is still rehabbing also.
He won;t sign with a team until he can actually pass a physical. I still like the idea of him if the Niners don’t believe that Baas is the answer.
The Sacramento Convergence concept offers Sacramento, the Central Valley, and the State a solution to feasibly construct a new multi-use Entertainment and Sports Complex.
Do we ahve any idea?
What that timing might be? I know the answer is probably going to be no but thought I’d check.

he was 2 months out
last I heard, which was right around the time he visited. I’m guessing after the draft when teams realize what they got and didn’t get there.

Gaither's too big a risk with his injury
Pitts likely won’t sign with anyone until after the draft. It won’t matter though, since we shouldn’t be looking at a guard too high in the draft. If the Niners can get Pitts shortly after the draft and took a mid-to-late round guard, they might try to shop Baas for a lower round pick. Pitts would then be the stop-gap until the new guy can step in.
Would have been nice
Gaither for a 2nd rounder would have freed up the Niners draft to select BPA and stop worrying about other team’s boards.
