Fooch's Note: I just discovered that I cannot create the next poll (spots 41-45) for our Big Board on Internet Explorer (or at leas this version I'm using away from home), so we're taking a day off from voting on the Big Board. The poll for spots 41-45 will go up first thing tomorrow morning. In the meantime, I thought this FanPost raised some interesting issues worth discussing. I'm intrigued by Pouncey, and if he could be rotated into a guard position, maybe it's worth a look. If it turns out he can't make the move to guard, I don't think it's a pick the 49ers can afford to make. Thoughts?

Daniel Jeremiah (twitter @MoveTheSticks) recently said that Pouncey is likely going to be drafted in the 1st round because of the premium teams put on big tough Centers with the 3-4 defense gaining popularity in the NFL.

He even went as far as to say that Pouncey going in the top half of the first round would not be a bad reach because he is a 10 year starter type of player.

When asked via Twitter if Pouncey could play Guard while waiting to eventually take over at Center, Jeremiah said, "yes, he could play all 3 interior spots".

Now I know this is the opinion of just one man (who is a former scout at the NFL level)...but it got me thinking.

If we're prepared to take Iupati at 17 (some even are ok with him at 13)...why not Pouncey?  Seems he could give us an instant upgrade over Baas and also be the future Center for Heitmann when the time comes.

So the question is, how do you value Pouncey and would you take him over Iupati?  Which pick would you take either of these guys?

I think both are safe picks and I like the idea of getting an instant upgrade between the tackles, plus a future Center if it's Pouncey.  Anthony Davis scares me because of the motivation, passion issues.

If trading down doesn't happen (or if it does and one of these two are available), I'm starting to like one of these picks.
