i cant imagine what our secondary would look like with OJ here

i guess michael lewis gets cut for sure this offseason. then we start dashon at SS, where he plays for this season. after his contract is up after this season, instead of paying him a bunch, we let him walk and put taylor mays at SS.

Dashon, Mays, and Bamm Bamm will get the record for most decapitations in one season

Yeah that would likely be the way it plays out

With Goldson and Lawson walking after next year, we would be getting some nice comp picks in the 3rd and 4th rounds.

Also, Sing did address the media when they asked and responded perfectly so as not to get a tampering charge. Though with the media making a big deal out of this now, the Lambs will probably try to file for tampering.

I doubt it. The Rams don’t even want to sign Atogwe, and he’ll likely walk June 1. This is something that makes me sick to my stomach. St. Louis has such a solid FS, and they won’t even pay the guy. The team won’t go to the trouble of filing tampering charges, because they don’t even care about Atogwe.

Prior to the draft, I was hoping the 49ers would make a move to get Atogwe, but now the team has a log jam at safety. I know Taylor Mays is a rookie, but I think he’s going to be fairly reliable after he’s “coached up”. Goldson is in a contract year, but I’d still like to see the team give him the full slate of games at FS again this season. If he plays well and earns himself a contract, San Francisco won’t be shy about paying him (they do take care of their own, unlike St. Louis).

Michael Lewis, well, I don’t think any of us know just how close he is to being finished (concussion wise). When healthy, he can still play pretty good football. Signing Atogwe at this point, would just create an unneccesary influx at the position. Hopefully O.J. gets a one-year deal with a team, and the 49ers can knock on his door during the offseason (if Goldson decides to ask for the moon in terms of new contract).
