Jeremy Shockey hospitalized after suffering seizure-like symptoms
New Orlean's ABC (WGNO) is reporting that Shockey was taken to the hospital today following a fall at practice. Apparently he he fell and then had seizure-like symptoms in the lockeroom after. He was able to walk to the ambulance under his own power but this is not good news for Shockey or the Saints.
Shockey is 29 and is in his 3rd season with the Saints. Las season he had 48 receptions for 569 yards and was an impact player for the Saints despite missing the last three games of the season. During the Super Bowl he only had 3 receptions but one of them was for a TD.
Here's hoping this is nothing too serious for him.

I’m not a big fan of Shockey, but I hope he everything is fine, or at the very least, I’m hoping he has a speedy recovery.

Seconded.
And then God created Saturn.. And he liked it, so he put a ring on it.

The worrisome part is the seizure issue
that could indicate concussion, or something worse.
Logic merely enables one to be wrong with authority
‘Seizure like symptoms’ can mean so, so many things.

Didn't Farve once suffer "seizure-like symptoms"...
in the Green Bay locker room because he’d OD’ed on pills? Just a thought. We are, after all, talking about freakin’ Shockey here.
well i don't know what that means
since Shockey has never been linked to doing anything illegal, let alone drugs. Just because someone is obnoxious(or perceived to be) doesn’t make them a pill head.
anyway, as you can tell from my pic, i’m a Giant Shockey fan, and i wish him the best. get well soon big dog.
Remember the "dehydration" incident...
that was probably really alcohol poisoning? The guy’s waaay too much of a party animal for his own good. Just look at his face.
weren't you in your mid and late 20s?
single, rich and famous….that’s a recipe for disaster for hundreds if not thousands of athletes. to single one out because he speaks his mind is a little unfair, IMO.
besides, alcohol, even when overconsumed, is not illegal.
Way to miss the point...
Early 20’s, sure, I drank too much. By my late 20s, I’d scaled things back a good bit, and those of my acquaintances that hadn’t before 30, ended up having to go to meetings. Just because it isn’t illegal doesn’t make it not a mind altering substance, nor does it mean he didn’t abuse the stuff. He obviously did. Most athletes don’t end up having to be treated for alcohol poisoning. Most guys in their late 20’s don’t look 41. If he’s abusing alcohol, he could move on to other things. Booze is as good a “gateway drug” as any other. Besides, the opportunity is certainly there. Just as with Farve, pain is part of football, and they do prescribe meds for it. I don’t think Farve ever actually obtained any of his drugs illegally. You’ll have to admit there are grounds for speculation here, although with as few facts as I have to work with, that’s certainly all it is.
Probably watching some Japanese Cartoons.

What we've got here is a failure to communicate.
