Who Will Partner Patrick Willis After Takeo Spikes???

Stay connected for news and updates

Hello Folks,

Its great news to hear that Patrick Willis has got a 5 year contract extension. As we all know he is the heart of our 49ers defense system, and also is the epitome of 49ers,as Coach Mike Singletary says. l'm sure that for Greg Manusky the defensive Coordinator this should be a huge relief,as he now knows that the defensive strategy which he has been building up with the recent acquisition of Taylor Mays has a strong foundation - Patrick Willis.

We know that we use the 3-4 system, and earlier on there was an article which was written explaining more about our 3-4 system, and our ''TED'' & ''MIKE''  ILB.We all know that Takeo Spikes is in his final year (hope to get his autograph in London Wembly 'Parking Lot' 2010 Game vs. Broncos).Takeo & Willis partnered well as the inside linebackers.Although i'm not that well versed in the ''TED'' & ''MIKE'' ILB Techniques which were specific to both of these guys (maybe someone could comment & explain more of this),the results were there to show.

Both players were full of tenacity, intensity, great tacklers, and not to forget the when Patrick Willis could step on the gas to cover tackle. We all had a good draft this season,we all know that the Offensive Line (O-Line)  which is the offensive engine needed to be over hauled, to help with Frank Gore's Rushing in the Middle & To help the QB Alex Smith with Protection. The great big maulers we've got as first round NFL 2010 Draft Picks in Mike Iupati (77) & Anthony Davis (76) can get the job done.

My question & concern (along with many fellow FAITHFUL Fans) is that who will succeed Takeo Spikes & complement Patrick Willis in the heart of our 3-4 defense as  " TED" ILB? Is Mckillop,Wilhelm or Bowman up to the task? Or we need to draft an ILB in 2011 Draft or go for free agency?
