Golden Nuggets: As Long As He's Playing
Morning folks, welcome to yet another edition of the Golden Nuggets. Today we've got Aubrayo Franklin on the mind, I have a couple links pertaining to him. Beyond that, I'm not entirely sure what I've got for you. I have a few links, but more than anything I'm a little bit in a hurry and will be doing these a bit early. Thanks to StereoPete for emailing me a couple links, always helps in putting these together each night. I generally stay up until at least 2 AM every night to get 'em done, so anything to make them go a little bit faster is greatly appreciated. We've got some bits from the 49ers website, the general youth camp fare and things like that, and a post about the running back situation and what not. Just enjoy 'em folks!
It's a critical point for the 49ers and Aubrayo Franklin - we'll know very soon whether or not the team will be extending him, or if he'll be playing on the franchise tag. (CSNBayArea.com)
The NFL is reporting that the 49ers won't be signing him to a long term deal, however. I'm OK with this, so long as he's with the team this coming season. (NFL.com)
The 49ers tackle London media - too bad our own London Niner couldn't be there. Still, good to see Vernon Davis representing. (49ers.com)
Running game revelations. A bit that seems to be inspired by some football outsiders stats, but I have been unable to read it yet. (SFGate.com)
Can stability bring the 49ers to an NFC West crown this coming season? I'm hoping so. (Yahoo.com)
Here's another article about the Youth Camp and some specifics I think, but I can't read it right this second. (49ers.com)
Rival Blog Buzz Revenge Of The Birds takes a look at the best of the NFC West strong safeties, and have a post about the Cardinals signing a draft choice. Field Gulls has a season retrospective on tight end John Carlson. Turf Show Times has a post about players likely to breakout, and Random Ramsdom.
Yesterday On Niners Nation We started with the Golden Nuggets, we had a post about Football Outsider's latest almanac. I'm sorry, but call me a homer all you want, that rating is bull. I had a confidence post on Shawntae Spencer, I had a new post about the Madden 11 ratings for the 49ers, and here's another thing from football outsiders, ranking the teams based on their young talent.
Today On Niners Nation (All times pacific and subject to change)
7:00 AM - Fooch will have a post about the situation regarding Aubrayo Franklin and his contract.
11:00 AM - He'll have another post about 49ers injuries and what to look out for next year in that regard.
3:00 PM - There will be something else, a fanshot I imagine between this and the previous post, but here will be.. something from me.

I have something scheduled for two
Not sure if you checked your email… In anycase, it’s there. If you need to move it feel free.
"I'm blessed..... Thanks, God bless" ...hey, it worked for Tim Tebow.
Yeah, I'm an idiot.
That’s all.
And then God created Saturn... and he liked it, so he put a ring on it.

Yeah, really disappointed ...
… not to be there. My company was one of those interviewing VD yesterday and we have Mike Singletary on Mon and I can’t make either. Would have met Coach Sing and meetings prevent me doing so … not good.

Sucks.
I think I’m allowed to be at training camp this year because of the Bay Area site, but I can’t afford it. Similar situations. Not good indeed.

Maybe we should start a "send James to training camp" fund!
I can only put in like 30 cents, but at least I brought up the idea. :P
31 days to go. . .
breaks out the big cardboard thermometer...
checks the donations ..sees Mango’s 30 cents and puts a small red dot in the thermometer. At this rate NJ should be able to go to training camp for the 2045 season.

Interesting point...
In Barrows’ breakdown from yahoo, he has a projected depth chart and while it doesn’t list a full 53 (only 47 total) he lists Wragge as making the team but believes Wilhelm will earn the backup role over Bowman. I know Wragge is flexible and experienced, and there’s room for other players (mainly in the secondary, receivers and linebackers), but I easily would believe Bowman has a clearer shot to make it than at least McKillop if push comes to shove.
On a positive note though, he lists Boone as making it over Sims.
I’m not sure how much of a positive that is.

What happened to the Player Profiles?
I haven’t seen any “behind the facemask” type posts on anyone recently. I am dying to know more about Andy Lee.
Denver Broncos
We hear all this stuff about how the 49ers are embracing London and all this stuff.
But what about the Broncos? are they doing anything similar?

Other stuff
Big Ben peed on a golf course
And I want to know if we’re going to be doing a best of the west type of post on here too?
Otherwise we should all go comment at ROTB

best of the west
I emailed everybody but got no responses so the group thing obviously is out.
I do want to do that. I’ll talk to James about it to potentially start it in the coming weeks. The other option is starting them July 30 once I’ve wrapped up the bar exam and have plenty of free time.

It's really up to you
I like reading them over at ROTB but I feel like they may be lacking a bit of depth.
If your bar exam is on July 30 then you only have 2 weeks left.
I think we can wait 2 weeks, unless James wants to start now (but he’s already doing the play profiles, player confidence things, and the at least we’re not posts as well)

Yeah right now I just don't have the time to go too much into depth
I’m already doing everything at ROTB by myself, otherwise I would.
What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.

Don't trip
You do a great job of running the site.
I’ll be a frequent visitor every time you write the Best of the West thing.

You run a very good blog, Andrew.
Obviously I believe Niners Nation is the best of “the four”, but ROTB is definitely number two, I think. Keep up the good work.

Barrows
When did he start doing things for Sporting News? Glad to see it, just wondering how long this has been going on. Perhaps this was just an assignment to do a camp countdown on the 49ers for Sporting News/Yahoo. Either way, it was a good read, although I’m not sure Rachal is the break-out player Barrows thinks he’ll be.

He tweeted about it
Apparently he’s been writing for them for quite some time now.
