Golden Nuggets: Yay Internet

Morning everyone. First off, sorry that not much went up yesterday.. I had internet problems all throughout, but today will be much more, how you say.. complete. I also woke up late, which didn't help things. Still, I'll have a few posts for you today, providing my internet doesn't decide to kick the bucket. Over at SB Nation Bay Area I'll be posting a full training camp primer for the 49ers and the Raiders in the coming days - make sure you're going over there consistently. It's a pretty cool site and I'm glad to be a part of it. Anyway - still no 49ers news. I only have a couple of links for you, but it should be plenty, I think! Without further ado, let's get to your links.

Here's a post that kind of takes a look at the upcoming contracts the 49ers will need to make. I don't agree with the bit about Vernon Davis - I do not think he'll be the highest paid tight end, nor do I think we'll use the franchise tag on him. He'll play for less money, like I said quite some time ago. Also, calls Dashon Goldson a SS instead of a FS. NationaLOL coverage, am I right? (ProFootballWeekly.com)

Quick question...

…is anyone else getting it where when you open up a story on NN (or any other SB Nation site) the story is aligned to the left – like the entire thing, and there’s a wide expanse of space on the right side? If so, could you tell me what browser you’re using – thanks.

Just yesterday and today ...

… I’ve been getting a weird version of my homepage (ie, NinersNation.com/LondonNiner, where you see your own comments and replies). It goes all white and scrambled. Then click ‘LondonNiner’ again and it clears back to normal. I’m in Chrome.

While I’m on, just saw the following stat – the last three winners of the Super Bowl, in the season BEFORE they won it, won 8, 10, 8 games (Giants, Steelers, Saints), which means the 49ers are one of 13 teams that need to get excited about 2010.

I like how "an insider" (MattMaiocco)

is not referred to as MM in the comment about VD’s contract. I guess it makes them sound like they really have inside info, and are not just browsing through beat reporter speculations.

Terrell Owens

Anyone else hear that the Rams are supposed to offer Owens a contract offer? They were saying it on ESPN today, I would hate to see him in a Rams uni.

By the way, I’m using Firefox, and never had a problem with the way the page came up.

I wouldn't hate it

But it does concern me a little bit because even though TO is well on the back end of his career, he will still provide much more of an impact that any of their receivers currently do. They still won’t have enough to make a huge improvement, but with TO it will still be a significant one. I don’t see how he turns it down if he gets an offer. There aren’t too many interested parties to begin with, and aside from Bradford and Jackson he will almost immediately become one of the main focuses of attention. Plus if for some reason he doesn’t make a significant impact, there are a lot of people he can throw under the bus! :P

You make some good points. I also just heard on ESPN the Bengals are making a push for Owens as well. He would probably end up choosing the Bengals just for the fact he would have a better overall year.

Could you imagine Owens and Ocho Cinco on the same team? Things would get wild.

In reality, I’m not so sure TO wants to be on the same team as Ochocinco. I haven’t heard that he’s been pushing the issue too much to get with the Bengals, although Ochocinco apparently was inferring that he was very much in favor of it. Something tells me that there might eventually be some issues between them because they’ll end up fighting over the spotlight!

Palmer and Ochocinco have been pushing for TO

TO wants more money than the Bengals are willing to offer. He’ll get more money from the Rams but he’ll have more talent surrounding him in Cincinatti.

San Diego game

This is one game I don’t have much confidence in the Niners. I don’t think our secondary can deal with Rivers on the deep pass. The only way I see the Niners winning this one is if San Diego has already clinched home field advantage or if the Niners offense becomes something explosive, which is possible, but not likely to that extent.

This site is the greatest, I'm addicted.

And yeah, I’m moving into a new apartment in 4 weeks, just made myself a Niners poster at work for my new living room. It’s (49ers stuff) a must for any new place. My roommate is a Broncos fan though, so for one week we will not be getting along, and the week after, since the Broncos will be losing that game!

Here's what will do...

… say we’re from The Antique Roadshow and saw the pic, but we’re gonna need it for a few day’s to check for authenticy , find ( Ninjame’s ) new pad , stash it there and he can post before every game so we can take a pull … and if it bring’s us luck we keep it and if not ship it back …!!
