T.O. to sign with Bengals
Breaking news from NFL.com - "
T.O. joining Bengals
Terrell Owens has agreed to a one-year deal with the Bengals, a team source told NFL Network's Michael Lombardi."
So it looks like the answer to the question "Will the 49ers try to get him back?" is NO!
I guess nothing is final until he signs, but I think that's a formality at this point. I heard that Chad Ochocinco (who shares the same agent at Owens) has been lobbying with the Bengals' organization to sign his friend...
We'll see how that team does with 2 showboats...

No matter what happens
The Bengals have instantly become interesting.

They've got back to back TV shows
Why not?
Trust me, learning english isn’t a waste of time. It is actually sort of useful.

YEE T.O. + Ochocinco= all out fun can't wait especially since t.o.'s helping chad pick his "love" in chad's show
but if it was only 1 yr 2 mill…why didn’t we sign him. Owens+Davis+Crabtree+Gore+Morgan+Ginn= B.A. and realll good.
Hit like Berry, Score like Jerry.
1 year $2 million plus another $2 million possible through incentives
and the 49ers had repeatedly siad they weren’t interestested in signing T.O. It wasn’t about the money
Logic merely enables one to be wrong with authority
The incentive
is that he’ll get $2 million more if he keeps his fucking mouth shut and plays ball.

I think in this case it fits

Noooo
To get the highest incentive he has to have like 100 catches over 1400 yards and 14 TDs.
He’ll get some of the low-medium incentives but they have nothing to do with keeping his mouth shut.

maybe they will stop talking about him
on tv now. not that thats a real improvement, just means more favre watch.
on your TV maybe
Unfortunately I live in Cincinnati, which means I won’t be able to turn on the box without hearing about it until January, when the Bungles miss the playoffs. Again.

At least the Rams didn't get him.
He’s not exactly a top threat, but neither are the Rams. It does make our victory slightly more assured.
I don’t think that at all… and of course this is all speculation on your behalf

"At least the Rams didn't get him. It does make our victory slightly more assured.""
How does the Rams NOT signing TO improve our chances of beating them? Since they didn’t sign him, they are EXACTLY the same team today as they were yesterday, as are we, so our chances of beating them are EXACTLY the same as they were…
After all was said and done, a lot more got said than done.
Wait, I think I figured it out... an "addition by subtraction" scenario.
In other words, they didn’t improve themselves, so they didn’t improve their chances of pulling off an upset, so our chances of winning stayed the same, but their chances of upsetting us did NOT improve… is that it?
After all was said and done, a lot more got said than done.
He’s starting with the premise that there are two scenarios:
1. T.O. Doesn’t sign with rams
2. T.O. Signs with Rams
Further he believes that with regards to the Rams chances of pulling and upset against the 49ers that 1 < 2

Apparently the interest by the Rams wasn't really all that great. The news got leaked
to force the Bengals a bit.

I'll call it now
T.O. has a resurgence as a #2 with Carson Palmer as his QB and he ends up either on the AFC pro bowl roster or just misses it.
Gimme 1 round!
That scenario would require Palmer to have a resurgence as well. He hasn’t been worth much of anything the last three years.

I don't think TO is as washed up as everybody thinks
This is a guy that 5 years ago came back early from a broken leg to play in the SB and should have been the MVP of the winning team if he didn’t have the worst pressure situation QB of all time on his team.
Gimme 1 round!

I mean he had a 1000 yards and 10 TDs
in 08 for the Cowboys and had his 2nd best season in 07 where he put up 1350 yards and was injured in week 16. 14 1/2 games 1350 yards and 15 TDs. This was 2 seasons ago. Everybody thought Favre was washed up too.
If you wanna call him out as being Team Obliterator that’s fine, but to think the man is washed up because of a bad season on a bad team… That’s a little premature.
Gimme 1 round!

Yep
Special players often continue to shine even in their later years as evidenced by the great Jerry Rice playing pro-bowl football at age 40. T.O. keeps himself in phenomenal shape and he was blessed with blazing speed, so even after losing a step or two he can still blow by 90% of the DBs in the league. I’m going to draft him in my fantasy league this year, albeit in the later rounds. Dude is a stud.

Good call.
He can be a #1 WR and you can get him in round 5ish

I agree
He had 829 yards receiving with the freaking Bills for crying out loud.

From Adam Schefter
Our friend @OGOchoCinco can play and politic. RT @CinBengalsNFL: Chad chex in. Says T.O. Is No. 1 receiver here out of respect 4 his career.

If you really look at Owens’s stats from last season, they were actually very good. The aggregates were really depressed by being on such an awful team, but the rate stuff was still excellent. He is still a very, very good wide receiver. Great potential fantasy sleeper pick.

I was going to argue that Carson Palmer has been pretty good, but he’s actually been much worse than I remembered. Almost perfectly average for a while now.
I have a soft spot for Palmer, though. I really wouldn’t be surprised if he puts up another few really good seasons. Owens could very well help him do it.

I think this is going to be a very good deal for the Bengals in 2010. Owens is still a very, very good player, and he’s always been happy to play nice in the clubhouse for at least one year.

I like the signing
And I would like to see a 49ers vs. Bengals superbowl
I was just about to say that
TO plays the Eagles, Cowboys and Bills in the pre-season.
It’s only fitting that he plays the 49ers this season too.
