SAN FRANCISCO - AUGUST 22: Brett Favre #4 of the Minnesota Vikings is pressured by Patrick Willis #52 and Takeo Spikes #51 of the San Francisco 49ers during an NFL pre-season game at Candlestick Park on August 22 2010 in San Francisco California. (Photo by Jed Jacobsohn/Getty Images)
The 49ers had an overall solid first half of play this afternoon. Alex Smith had a fairly solid performance, especially on the first drive of the game. The defense was also quite solid, although there are certainly continued concerns with some of the more mobile quarterbacks in the league. Tavaris Jackson didn't exactly destroy them, but he had some success. However, aside from one bend-but-don't-break drive, the 49ers defense looked solid.
We're now in the second half with Nate Davis coming in as the second quarterback, much like we expected after Jimmy Raye spoke earlier this week.
