NT Aubrayo Franklin Officially Signs 49ers Franchise Tender
Thanks to mikeinsp for getting a FanShot up about this but I wanted to make sure we got some front page coverage as well. The 49ers announced that Aubrayo Franklin arrived in town and signed his franchise tender contract offer. The team will make him available to the media at 3:45pm today over at the Oakland Coliseum.
At this point I'd be pretty surprised if he was playing in tonight's game. If that's the case, Ricky Jean Francois will get one last game of first team snaps at nose tackle. Starting next week, I'd suspect Franklin moves back into the starting lineup and RJF goes second team at nose tackle, with some snaps at defensive end as well.

can i have your autograph?
It's just a plant, it grows in the earth, and if you happen to set it on fire there are some effects...
Yay!
Now go out and prove you are worth a multi—year contract :D
The San Fransisco 49ers, where got Dix, VD and Crabs!
This preseason, so far, RJF and MItchell have been fantastic.
I hope they keep Mitchell and he and RJF just get better and better this year.
"Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, either way, YOU'RE RIGHT !"
I'm sure they will
RJF is looking like an excellent pickup for a 7th rounder. And Mitchell is also showing some great benefits of being in the system for a season & perfecting his skills. Nice to know we’ve got some depth & some options we can eventually consider for NT and the DL in general. If it ends up being too expensive to lock up Aubrayo to an extended deal, I’m sure RJF will be ready to assume the starting role.
