HOME ALTERNATES (A - E) :
- based on the 1954-55 home uniform
- was also worn during the 1994 season (NFL's 75th Anniversary)
- considered "lucky" by the team, as they were undefeated in these red jerseys and eventually won Super Bowl XXIX wearing them
- can also be worn with triple-striped socks for a traditional "throwback" look
- silver helmet adapted from the 1962-63 uniform (regular gold helmet may be worn)

ROAD ALTERNATES 1 (A - C) :
- based on the 1962-63 white away uniform with silver helmets and pants
- original had no shadowed numerals, option C adapted from the 1954-55/1994 jerseys
- striped socks may also be worn for more traditional "throwback" look

ROAD ALTERNATES 2 (D - E) :
- based on the 1955/1994 white away uniform with black dropshadows
- silver helmet adapted from the 1962-63 uniform (regular gold helmet may be worn)
- striped socks may also be worn for more traditional "throwback" look

Perhaps alternates should only be worn for nationally televised (NBC SNF, ESPN MNF or NFLN TNF) night games the team plays a few times year? Well, just an idea. I know the Ravens have ( or had?) sort of the same thing where they wore all black unis for just night games. In the same way the 49ers can use these occasions to wear the 1955/94 or 1962-63 alternates (since IMO the red on these jerseys seem brighter and cleaner with white pants than with the gold ones @ nighttime),  in order to advertise/promote them to jersey buyers for the first couple seasons. Hopefully the jerseys still have their old luck!

^ The 1954-55 49ers uniform (the regular gold or 1962-63 style silver helmet would be worn with this instead of the red w/ silver stripe to avoid the logistical nightmare of having THREE sets of helmets to fit and adjust).
