So how does it go 49er faithfuls? Its been a long time, but on my trip i didn't have access to the internet and my blackberry just decided to act up. A 6 country, 3 Continent journey took me to many places and i had the experience of my life. The picture you will see is me sailing in Abu Dahbi UAE. Extremely fun times.
So back to the 49ers and their preparation for what promises to be an exciting year. I was able to keep track of the 49ers moves, or lack there of. However, it does appear that our team is on the verge of capturing the NFC Western Division in 2010, mainly due to a poor division in which the Cardinals have lost many "elite" players, the Seachickens haven't really improved, and the Rams are well the Rams right? I am looking forward to going to the stick multiple times in 2010, the first being against Minnesota in a couple weeks. Wow the season is coming up real fast and i couldn't be more excited.
So onto the 49ers
It does appear that Scott Mckillop will be lost for the year, that is a hard pill to swallow especially on special teams where he is a standout. Lets hope that Matt Wilhelm, Navorro Bowmnan or Travis Laboy pick up the slack. Of rouse this means that Bowman will see some playing time in 2010 and that is a good thing considering his talent level. I was also surprised by how Wilhelm played in limited action during the 2009 season. So it does appear we have the bodies to replace Mckillop.
I am also understanding that Ted Ginn Jr is having a great start to camp, and that couldn't come at a better time. We have the best receiving unit we have had in a long time, and if Ginn can live up to the expectations that made him a top 10 pick a couple years ago that will just add a lot to the unit. I am looking for Michael Crabtree to take the next step and become a top tier receiver in the NFL, if 2009 was any indication it may just happen this season. Has anyone hard how Kyle Williams is performing so far in training camp. I recently heard an interview with his father (Whitesox GM Kenny Williams), and although obviously bias, he thinks that Williams who had two good seasons in the Pac 10 will perform at a high level in the NFL. Would you rather see Williams or Dominique Zeigler take up the final receiver spot?
I am also super excited about Takeo Spikes and his Super Bowl talk, a recent interview in FOX Sports Net California Spikes mentioned that desire to win a Super Bowl with the 49ers, and believes we have the talent to do so in 2010. I understand that is a bit far fetched but it is nice hearing current 49er players talking about Super Bowl rings, it just shows a nice level of confidence.
What can we say about Darnell Docket? Dude really needs to keep his pie hole shut before Mike Iupati or Vernon Davis busts him in the mouth during our first game. I do like the dudes passion, but he has overplayed it to a great extent. And the Cardinals getting in fights and not participating 100 percent only bodes well for the 49ers rights? If he thinks injuring Leinert in practice is a good thing, Docket has something else coming to him. Although Leinert is not the second coming of Kurt Warner, he is a better player than Derek Anderson! So here is a quote from me that i hope Docket hears "The 49ers are going to knock you in the mouth, steal your baby, and beat your wife on the field, Taylor Mays, Nate Clements, Shawntae Spencer, Dashon Goldson, Takeo Spikes, Patrick Willis, Justin Smith and Aubrayo Franklin are ALL better than you, your nothing but an ego maniac that wants to collect millions to for 5-7 sacks a season, YOUR A JOKE".
I like the fact that Moran Norris appears on his way out, and that Tony Curtis is performing so well. However, it just brings me to the fact that we could have wasted another draft pick on Nate Byham, ala Bear Pascoe. If we signed Curtis before the draft, which we did, than what was the need to go after Byham? Either way i think that Britt Miller will bring more to the table than Moran Norris. Is anyone hearing the possibility of Michael Robinson being released or traded? Before the loss of Mckillop i didn't see any room for Robinson on the roster, but now he may be needed on special teams, where he is a standout.
Well that is all from me right now. Want to give an shout out to Fooch, Drew etc... you know the NN mainstays.I will be keeping up with more posts, commenting on other blogs and such. Stay tuned for pictures from the Niners-Vikings pre-season game, i have 50 yard line 2nd row seats, that going to be awesome

Unless there’s a Josh Morgan or Tom Brady hanging around, 6th and 7th rounders are like UDFAs, they just don’t have to outbid other teams. They waisted a pick on Pascoe and they did it again this year on Byham. The guy just isn’t going to cut it. It looks like they’re giving him a better look though compared to Pascoe. Bear didn’t see the field much in the preseason because of his inability to block. And there you go, Byham screws up too on that sack.
Oh gosh, this thing is messed up.
