2010 San Francisco 49ers 53-Man Roster

As was discussed in great detail yesterday, the 49ers made their final cuts yesterday and put together their official 53-man roster for the 2010 season. Based on past transactions, we'll see some changes to this roster during the season, but for now these are the guys with which we're going to war. I'm creating this separate post of the 53-man roster for a couple reasons. First, if you don't bookmark and decide to later search for it in the site search engine, this will make it easier to find it.

The second reason is because the 49ers have posted audio from Coach Singletary's conference call from yesterday, in which he discusses the roster decisions. You may need a plug-in for the site on Google Chrome, but it appears to work fine on Firefox.

After the jump, I've posted the official 53-man roster...

He was?

Does that mean our future was to have bad offense, no defense, and very good special teams?

lol

I can picture it now: punting on first down… playing field goal and punt block defenses on all defensive downs… Ahh yes. The future was going to be groundbreaking!

Now we’re stuck with this whole well-balanced team… shucks.

Glad to see you held onto Nate Davis

As a Ball State alum, I love the kid, I hope he works harder than he has been (I heard Singletary called him out despite his decent preseason performance).

"I was interviewing George Halas and I asked him who is the greatest running back you ever saw. And he said, 'That would be Red Grange.' And I asked him if Grange was playing today, how many yards do you think he'd gain. And he said, 'About 750, maybe 800 yards.' And I said, 'Well, 800 yards is just okay.' He sat up in his chair and he said, 'Son, you must remember one thing. Red Grange is 75 years old.' - Chris Berman

MIkeRob

I think with the addition of nate byham, made Mike rob expendable because if Moran Norris goes down byham can lead block. An MikeRob wasn’t going to get any carries with westbrook an Dixon behind gore. So there really was no place for him except ST. U gotta be versatile in this league.

Seahawks cut B. Jones

Any thoughts on LB’s?

I don’t think that at all… and of course this is all speculation on your behalf

He’s done. Too much young talent out there to take a flyer on DB.

Possibly on the first...

Only via injury on the second. P.Willy is only in his 4th season. He’s still learning from TKO

Not going to happen this year.

Spikes has played flawless TED for us. The only way Bowman starts is if Spikes or Willis is hurt.

And then God created Saturn... and he liked it, so he put a ring on it.

Wondering where you been?

Hey Ninja Bills is saying some crazy stuff over in EA land again. “Our OC ain’t ready for the NFL jimmy sucks” lol I was like Raye has been in the NFL a long while. lol

There were even times when Spikes was playing at Willis level of intensity. No way he sits this year.

by WesHanson on Sep 5, 2010 1:07 AM PDT up reply actions

I can see a bit of rotation to keep Spikes fresh. I bet Bowman plays 20% of the downs.

by bignerd on Sep 5, 2010 2:19 PM PDT up reply actions

I’ll throw 17% out there.

Hawks lose Alex Gibbs

Retires citing burnout! From Petey’s BS? Rest NFC West crumbling even before the start of season!

With Okung not available, and Gibbs gone, Justin Smith could start where he left off in January against the Rams!

I had to check in here

to see if my cousin Nate made the team. I’m very happy for him and I hope he dominates people for years to come.
