A Special goodbye to Michael Robinson
I'm actually kind of sad M-Rob's been, cut, he was one of my favorite players on the niners the last couple of seasons. He always played hard, and made the big block on some big plays. Sure, he wasn't that gifted offensively, but he could block so well, and always played with great passion. I thought if he could have blocked for Ginn on kick returns, maybe we would have bigger gains and/or more touchdowns. He was a great locker room presence, and a pretty funny dude, and I was lucky enough to meet him as well, down to earth nice guy. I'll always root for M-Rob wherever he goes, and I'll miss the Robinson Report, always supplied a good laugh.

honestly I'm a little sad too
while he was never all that great I always had a soft spot in my heart for MRob. My buddies girlfriend is actually friends with him (they went to the same high school) and she was there at his draft party. She was going to take me to meet him when he was back here for his football camp this year but we never got the chance to make it out there. Hopefully next year. Anyway I wish him luck and I’m sure he’ll be picked up by another team before too long.

I am sad too.....
but I have a feeling he will be re-signed before the Seahawks game.
(probably nothing more than wishful thinking, though)

You’re right. McCloughan just might sign him.

On that 2nd link
he had TWO blocks that lead to the big return….i just feel he never really got a chance in practice to play in the offense, hence the reason his game day performances weren’t that great….i just hope he doesn’t sign with any NFC west team, because i would hate to have to cheer against him
He also recovered that Phillip Adams fumble on the return

You will be missed Michael Robinson!!
Quite the class act. Loved his show, loved him on special teams. Just one of my favorite niners. I wish him well, and hope he returns!
Check out his twitter, seems like he was a special person, not just a special teamer.
Good riddance
The guy didn’t do anything well and didn’t deserve a roster spot.
The only reason he hung on this long is because the team was weak for so many years, and had room to carry the bum.
Time to continue to clear out the dead weight and move forward.
?
Didn’t do anything well? The guy was a really really good special teams player.

Yea we was such a good special teams player..............
He never made the pro bowl. He couldn’t have been that good.
he was pro bowl alternate
like Justin Smith. I guess Smith is no good.
I don’t think that at all… and of course this is all speculation on your behalf

Especially when you consider
that only one special teamer gets to go to the Pro Bowl from each conference.

He was a Pro-Bowl alternate twice.

a couple of months ago we had a huge debate about Robinson
To all of you who disagreed with me when I predicted this…. I told you so. On the other hand, all the supporters have valid points of views and he will be missed. Im just under the belief we will be better for it. Sorry ninjames
i'm surprise that Michael Robinson had made the roster the last 2yrs
I like Michael Robinson, however he never did turn into the RB , that the 49ers was hoping for
did you really need to post?

I was no Michael Robinson fan, and almost never have been, but I understand why other people were. He always seemed like a stand-up guy and a hard worker, and those kinds of players will always find their ways into the hearts of fans.
And he will certainly be missed on special teams.

Simply stated...
hated him on Offense and loved him on Specail Teams. I don’t want Brian Jennings as our #2 or even #3 TE but I would not give him up. That is an exaggeration of sorts, I’ll admit but think about it. Special Teams is a part of the team.

Michael Robinson: class act, leader and major positive influence in the locker room,
the #2 special teams performer in the entire NFC (as pointed out by goatfather and smileyman), hard worker and great role model.
Unfortunately, caught up in the numbers game and the fact that our team is just getting more and more talented top to bottom, and that his “talent” on the offensive side of the ball just no longer measured up.
I have utmost respect for him, and will miss him and wish him well…
After all was said and done, a lot more got said than done.
MRob just signed with Seattle.
I’m sure absolutely no one here saw that coming, AMIRITE!

I'm sad too......that I have to wait a whole week to watch the game.....
Now about Robinson, he will do just fine over in Seattle, but I believe that the 49ers have better athletes on the team right now that can play ST better than him, and contribute on offense and defense.
