As far as coach Singletary and the 49ers – Singletary, that dude is legit. He’s legit on all levels. He’s doing what he feels is right.

I wouldn’t say I love it. I think it’s information that some people might find interesting. Also the regular season one does include a little bit more info.

I still don’t know what to do with it.
Although I do look to see a Michigan Spartan connection between Jimmy Raye and person X. Anyone still around when Jimmy Raye was playing gives me a chuckle.
at around 0:49 is a picture of Jimmy Raye. I know, he looks a bit different (most in skin colour), but it’s him. He’s so old he’s changed races.

What this site seems to do that may even be original
Someone always seems to run 1000-odd simulations of the game on Madden 11 and tell us the outcome as a prediction. You might want to buy the game if you don’t already have one and aspire to this gig here.

hey Fooch
Steve here from the Panthers blog… when are we starting this Madden season? I have some questions for you so stop by when you get a chance please.

A few tips for future job searches
Typing is not the same as texting, you can’t get away with not using capital letters at the beginning of a sentence. You also don’t get any cool points for substituting a “z” for an “s.” Punctuation. That one speaks for itself.
Hope that didn’t sound harsh, it wasn’t meant to be. This is a pretty mature forum, I seriously would not read any decent sized post you write if they were always written that way. Lack of punctuation makes your thoughts more difficult to follow.
Hope that helps.
AK, I was going to write the very same thing.
I have no intention of reading something written at [way] below high school graduation level (there are already a couple of posters on here whose “writings” I choose to never read).
Such writing occurs for one of two reasons: either the writer is truly ignorant, in which case I honestly don’t want to expose myself to his ignorant thoughts and opinions, or he knows how to write proper English at an adult level, and chooses not to, which I find insulting. Either way, I find that trying to decipher such drivel is not worth the effort it takes, so I choose not to do so.
Reading / writing were my most difficult tasks in school (I was a jock and a math geek, a most unlikely combination), but I’ve worked extremely hard throughout my life to improve my reading and especially my writing, as I believe them to be extremely important. To those to whom this applies, your skills will improve only if you work at improving them. Being complacent with the “status quo” will NOT foster improvement in writing, a most important life skill.

yes im sorry for the gramical errors and i dont try writing like im texting because i dont have texting so there you go. also i have never started posts like these with capitals and i dont think i am going to do it here also.
what im looking to do though is have a matchup between each player spot and clarify based on stats who has the edge in that area. for example, quaterback, wide recievers, running back, cornerback, etc …
base all the matchups versus the other teams main area players
wow, second interview!
and you absolutely FAILED. not only do you insist that you will not employ basic punctuation and capitalization, but you sentences don’t even make sense.
Please tell me what sentences dont make sense. I am dying to know what a fine genius like yourself would like to criticize me on.

This is another thing you probably don't want to do.
It makes you seem immature and instead of sparking up intelligent conversation, you will end up bickering back and forth with people. I am not trying to lecture you, but I know you are new and it sounds like you want to be an active member of this forum. Again, this is a generally mature audience. Although there are exceptions, this sort of bickering is a sure way to have people quit paying attention to your message, and focus on your bickering.
Just stick around

Ok, I am biting my tongue...
But to answer your original question, if you want to be recognized here, write a good article in the FanPost section. If the moderators like it, they will likely give you front page billing. If it looks like your current posts… they will get flamed and your time will likely be wasted, as people won’t read it.
That said, show us what you got. But for god’s sake, sentences start with capital letters. Like this. When a word you type is underlined in red, it is spelled wrong (see: gramical). Right click on it, and choose the right word. We over look obvious typos, like it instead of if. Or common grammar errors, like their, they’re, or there. But im is not a word. “I’m” is a conjunction of I am, but requires a capital “I” and an apostrophe. That is why “im” gets the red squiggly line too.
Crap, sorry, I stopped biting my tongue. But it is good info whether you post here, somewhere else, or write/type anything at all.
I don't overlook "there", "they're", and "their". I knew the difference in 4th grade....
“They’re” means (and is a contraction of) “They are”
“their” means “belonging to them”
“there” indicates a location
“They’re parking their car over there.” (meaning “They are parking the car that belongs to them at that place over yonder.”). It’s not rocket science….
To Kyle: you wrote “i dont think i am going to do it here” meaning basically that on this site you intend to keep writing as you are. That is definitely your choice, you are free to do so. But the rest of us have the right to read what you write, or not, and more than a couple of us will choose to not read what you write.
After all was said and done, a lot more got said than done.
LOL, I deserved that...
To think, I was going to give you a hard time for giving me the Grammar lesson. I too can clearly distinguish the difference between there, they’re, their. But many can’t. Then I reread my post, and saw I said “I’m” is a conjunction, which is way off. In my defense though, I absolutely hate English grammar. I was the guy who never took my books home and got straight A’s in Math and Science, and barely got by with C’s in English. And that was a long time ago.
AK, the grammar lesson wasn't directed at you, but at the "general public".
The only thing that I directed at you was my unwillingness to overlook “there”, etc.
Our educational backgrounds are quite similar. Math and Science were also my best courses (my Bachelor’s degree is in Math), English my most difficult (I learned more about the English language in my first year of studying a foreign language than I learned in my whole “career” in English classes). I had to work VERY hard to become a competent writer, with a great deal of help from my older sister, whose career was teaching high school kids how to write. I still don’t write all that well, but I’m MUCH better than I was, and MUCH better than a lot of those who populate this site. I find that to be sad, that my meager writing skills are superior to so many others.
After all was said and done, a lot more got said than done.
Your/you're
This one bothers me to no end. It really irritates me to see people screw this one up and it happens more than any other, I think.

Quite similar indeed
I learned more about English at DLI, while trying to learn Russian in 47 weeks, than I did in high school. I won’t have my Bachelor’s for another year though, and it will be a BS in Computer Science. I find I am a much better editor than writer. I can find bad grammar in other’s works, but usually overlook my own. Which you will notice frequently in my posts. I don’t usually correct other people because every time I submit a post, I find errors after.
Editing your own stuff is hard
that’s because when most people read they don’t read the whole word—they just read the first and last letters and fill in the gaps. Fast readers will read chunks of words at a time like that. When you go back to read your own material you already know what you’ve written so your mind fills in the gaps.
The key for me is to read out loud (or at least move my lips), then you find the subtle mistakes easier.
Logic merely enables one to be wrong with authority

Damn, and I fell for it-
I thought this was going to be VERY IMPORTANT.
On a separate (and more important) note, when are we going to get the prediction-game threads going again? Last year I missed the first two weeks and still made the playoffs.
Chris Cohan- YOU'RE FIRED!
To old jock., you sound like a bitter old man who lives alone. Exscuse me if i am 19 years old, go to college, while working two jobs, and paying multiple college loans. I have a crappy used labtop that has keys that stick and misses letters at times.
Also i dont need a lecture on the meanings of all the there, their, they’re words are because your point is moot. I know what they mean. So why dont you go on a singles cruise and learn how to be nice to people. I will try and do better with capitals and punctuation. I will read it over numerous times so you guys can relax.
Also to bignerd and bonbrillio
Like i said, I am in college and working two jobs. So I am so sorry that I dont check this page every day or dont comment back until two days later. I will try and be more like you. Should i drop out of college and quit my jobs? Will that make you happy ?
Yes, Kyle, I'm old, but definitely NOT bitter, nor lonely...
Since you’re working so hard at two jobs to put yourself through college (as I did back “in the day”), why don’t you take advantage of the opportunity and actually become educated, instead of wallowing in the glory of your ignorance.
Since you’re a young man and have your whole life ahead of you, a lesson for you based upon the wisdom gained with aging… learning to communicate well in writing is quite possibly the single most important life skill there is. If, after you graduate from college, you apply for a job and submit a resume’ replete with grammatical, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, etc. errors, you will NEVER be called in for a first interview, you’ll never pass the paper screening. Instead of getting all butt-hurt by all this, use it as motivation TO IMPROVE. We’re all here discussing the 49ers, how Nate Davis was just waived because he wasn’t willing to work hard enough to improve. Don’t be a Nate Davis… work hard to make yourself better, and when someone like me or AK give suggestions, use them as springboards in that quest for improvement. Improvement takes hard work and practice, but the practice must be at performing the task the right way. If you practice something incorrectly, all you’ve learned is how to do it incorrectly.
Best of luck to you, STAY IN SCHOOL, but think about some of the things that I’ve said here… I took some time to write all this TO HELP YOU. Now it’s up to you to help yourselff!!!!!!!!
After all was said and done, a lot more got said than done.
Funny you ...( wallowing in the glory of your ignorance. ) ...!!
I'm your " Huckelberry "...it's juz my game ...!!
I am not being ignorant. I work plenty hard. I made a mistake in this post I understand. i also do not make gramatical mistakes on things with more important areas. i appreciate AK’s advice, but yours was harsh and didnt give me a sense of help or advice. I am very good at english and grammer. Punctuation is a different story. I am a history major and a english minor( write poems/songs, but like history better). I promise I will be more careful with future posts. Can we come up with an agreement on that ?
Also as a side note, dont ever say I am not hard working, you do not know how wrong you are on that.
Kyle, you've completely missed my point. Since this site is a 49ers site, I'll use a football analogy...
You think that I said you don’t work hard. I didn’t. I said that you need to work hard TO GET BETTER. Consider a player trying to make the team. He performs one of his most basic skills incorrectly, the coach shows him how to do it correctly, he does it again, still wrong. He does it over and over and over, never changing his incorrect technique. He comes to practice early, stays late, always working on the technique but never getting it right. He’s working hard, just not improving. And he WON’T MAKE THE TEAM.
Also, when AK and others, including me, gave you some suggestions to help you improve, you responded with “i don’t think i am going to do it here”… that IS being ignorant, and is an indication that getting it right is totally unimportant to you, at least here. It was this statement made by you that motivated me to make the statement “wallowing in the glory of your ignorance”. Players with such attitudes don’t make it (refer to Russell, JaMarcus) You’re a young man, with his whole lifetime ahead of him. You have an English minor, for Christ’s sake, have more respect for that, and for yourself, than to present yourself to the public in writing the way that you do. You claim that you know correct spelling, grammar, and capitalization, but not punctuation. Then learn proper punctuation, and PRACTICE doing all of them CORRECTLY. You’ll find that, after a while, doing things correctly has become a habit and will happen nearly automatically.
After all was said and done, a lot more got said than done.
Kyle
1. Deep breath
2. Spell check
3. Repeat
Nobody was being harsh, everyone is really trying to give you good advice. Being harsh would be saying your original post was a train wreck wrapped in a dumpster fire, but nobody said anything like that. Your style of writing has a very slim chance of being read and taken seriously here, so some of the posters were offering you constructive criticism.

I think what you're asking
is if there is some kind of preview article before each game that looks at matchups between the comparable parts of each team. Is that correct? And no, we haven’t really ever had that.
For instance:
49ers vs. Seahawks
QBs: Alex Smith vs. Old Man Hasselbeck. Edge: 49ers
RBs: Frank Gore vs. Julius Jones. Edge: 49ers
WRs: Crabs, Morgan, Ginn, Ziggy vs. Branch and some other scrubs. Edge: 49ers
Defense: Willis vs. All 11 of those jerks. Edge: Willis
is that what you’re talking about?
If you don't like Brandon Medders you're not a true fan.

You know we never have done that and I’m not sure why. Florida Danny has put together some statistical matchup previews but we’ve never done something like that I don’t think. I’ll work something up for later this week.

Like I said...
Do it! If you come up with any good posts, you will get plenty of people who appreciate it. I, for one, don’t have time to keep up with the NFL as a whole. I do have time to keep up with the Niners. Because of that, I am very appreciative of people posting any info on how they fit into the rest of the league, analysis of other teams strengths and weaknesses or any well thought out opinions, not so well thought out humor and many things in between.
If you write the way you did the you last couple posts, people will read it. But I urge you, don’t get offended when people criticize. The helpful criticism, use it. The less helpful, ignore it. If you really desire an international forum to express yourself (the internet), prepare to have some people appreciate it, some hate it, some offer constructive criticism and others to bash you. But as you said, none of them actually know you, so don’t take it so personally. And always strive to improve.
