Do you want N. Davis to clear waivers, and make the P-Squad?
I'm pretty sure everyone has had enough discussion regarding Nate Davis and his surprise release. Now the general consensus is that the majority prefers the signing of the Heisman winner Troy Smith. I do agree with the majority, in that I like the signing of Troy Smith. I hope he replaces David Carr as the 2nd string quarterback for years to come. However, I would have really liked to keep N. Davis. I believe he is a very natural quarterback. I understand Coach Sings and the fact that he want's more dedication from N. Davis, and he may not have the right work ethic. I just don't think N. Davis will clear waivers, and we will lose out on a great possibility. According to Kevin Lynch, at San Fran Chronicle, Nate Davis has already been claimed off waivers by several people according to his source. My question to you Niners Nation, is do you want N. Davis to clear waivers, and make the Practice Squad.

Me too, if anything...
I wanted to keep N. Davis, but if we really did want to shop him, I think he showed enough to warrant at least a 6th or 7th rounder. It’s not like he has a huge salary would hinder a trade.
We used a 5 on him and now teams realize he's a lunkhead
We weren’t getting anything. Other coaches are not fooled by him torching guys that will never officially play a down of NFL football. Those trade negotiations would go a lot like Flaming Dragon trying to ransom Tug Speedman for $100 Million to Les Grossman (Tropic Thunder)… What I’m saying without making a distinct site decorum violation, (the offer made in the movie is classic), is that their counter offer for Nate Davis would be something like the team waterboy that was caught a dump on the owners desk.

Davis has enough talent to keep. I have a feeling that Sing will make sure Davis gets plenty of help if he is on the PS.

I am absolutely thrilled to have Troy Smith, in case you didn’t notice, but I think you’d be crazy not to want to see Nate Davis on the practice squad.
Well, maybe not crazy. But it does certainly seem like it would be a favorable result.

Of course yes
Not because he is our future(that is getting old) but because we spent a draft pick on him. It would be nice to see some return on that pick somewhere down the road. I know getting production out of a 5th rounder is tough and even tougher at the QB position but still, would be nice.
Also...
I use him in end of the half situations in Madden when I need to throw the ball farther than A Smith can :)
Think'n if he clear's that's alot said ....
… that the other 31 team’s have past on him not once but Six time’s …!!
I'm your " Huckelberry "...it's juz my game ...!!
Absolutely no...
Not that Troy Smith inspires great confidence in me, but I’m so tired of hearing all the “NDIOF” guys talking about potential and how that’s going to result in Davis being the future. If he aint around, I can stop reading about him like the guys who were preseason heroes of the past like Clayton, Sheets and all the others. Davis couldn’t hack it against 2nd string players, but people think he was good enough to lead the team. What a joke.
Personally, they can cut Brown from the PS and take another QB that was cut to ride the PS or just give up entirely and draft another guy next year to be the new bandwagon guy.
Spoken like a true Alex Smith groupie
Maybe one day we can stop reading about all of his excuses.

Did I make excuses in my post, or even refer to Smith? You must be one of those guys who thinks Davis is bound for the HoF? I’ll just sit at my keyboard and roll my eyes.

Not going to happen now
Whitlock says several teams have put in claims for Nate Davis.
Then again, Whitlock is the biggest Nate Davis fan out there….
What we've got here is a failure to communicate.
