Vernon Davis Discusses Jim Harbaugh, Donovan McNabb On The T.OCho Show

Tonight at 7:30pm pacific/10:30pm eastern, 49ers tight end Vernon Davis will be making a guest appearance on the T.Ocho Show on Versus. I've never actually seen the show before but I've received some advanced tape of Davis' appearance that I thought I'd embed. The first is before the jump and the second is after the jump.

This first clip is Terrell Owens asking Vernon Davis about potentially having Donovan McNabb as a quarterback. While Davis didn't state that he loves McNabb like he did with Kyle Orton, he sounded excited about having him. As long as someone's throwing footballs at Vernon Davis, I'm guessing he'll be pleased. No word on whether we get some comments from TO about McNabb.

Star-divide

This second clip features Davis discussing Jim Harbaugh and comparing him to Mike Singletary. He talks about people liking Singletary but wishing he was a bit more of players coach. He describes that in the sense of wishing Singletary might goof around a little more and be less on the motivational speaker track. It will be interesting to see how Harbaugh's form of motivation works at the NFL level.

Sounds like

The players need a coach who can wear more than one hat: they need the structure and discipline of a Sing but also someone who can detach from that persona and act like a normal human sometimes.

Safe to say

VD would be the catalyst for bringing McNabb or Orton to SF?

As long as they bring somebody!

We need talent at the QB and Harbaugh will probably have the best grasp on who that is.

Trade or Free Agency?

Does anyone know how would we acquire McNabb?

by Abe Lopez on Jan 11, 2011 5:35 PM PST reply actions

McNabb sucks....

I hope we don’t get him. But if Baalk wanted him, it would be via FA. He had a clause in his contract that said the Redskins could release him after this season.

sure he should've

he got an extra 3.5 million out of it. the Redskins were gonna release him no matter what. Might as well get 3.5 million for being treated like crap by the Shannahans.

Chirp, Chirp

Where is everyone? Maybe we all need a week off to recuperate from the Harbwatch.

Eh

It’s sad we had to front page this instead of Fanshot. Worst home page post in a long time. Can we go back to the Harbaugh watch posts? Man those were fun.

Life is going back into the old boring waiting pattern….

McNabb in a WCO is the only way I'd consider McNabb

After all we only have Carr and we are going to draft a project. If Westbrook stays it makes even more sense.
I’m not saying its the best option but it could be worse. So long as McNabb stops working out with Nate Davis. I have a feeling “working out” is doing laps at the drive through.

Harbaugh will find a QB and he will succeed.

by goatfather on Jan 11, 2011 6:36 PM PST reply actions

Agreed

McNabb shouldn’t be as bad as he was in WAS if he is back in a WCO and behind a solid OL. Not too mention he would be a great veteran leader for a bunch of young guys trying to learn the offense. Him and Westbrook would be a great start for Crabtree, Dixon, etc…

by hudd07 on Jan 11, 2011 8:10 PM PST up reply actions

McNabb wasn't that bad in Washington

other than his TD to INT ratio which was awful. Otherwise he was on par with Kyle Orton and Jay Cutler on this season and pretty close to his career numbers.

you had to bring it over here

even after I praised him in the WCO

BTW Did anyone else notice in the TMZ video

that Vernon had a brace on his right arm?

Vernon loves everyone

I think if they asked him about Brett Favre coning over here, he’d gush lyrical about how much he loves Brett and would love to catch passes from him.
