Golden Nuggets: Not Gonna Fret

Morning folks. Not much going on as of yet in 49erland. Jim Harbaugh's coaching staff is taking its time to come together, which is totally understandable and probably a good thing. It's best for Trent Baalke and Harbaugh to think things through and get it all done. Beyond that, there's some player news and news regarding 49ers coaching on their way out, and I'll get to that in the links. I'm in a hurry right now, so let's just get right to it. Enjoy.

It looks like quarterback Nate Davis is done as a 49er. He's being signed to a future contract with the Seattle Seahawks, after the 49ers neglected to sign him to one. That being said, I am not going to fret over this. I think Nate has a lot of potential, but he's just not worth it right now. Harbaugh doesn't need that project right now. (

Tight end Vernon Davis has advocated Kyle Orton and is now advocating another quarterback: Donovan McNabb. I suppose I wouldn't be opposed to McNabb, but he just seems like a guy who will never lead a team to the promised land. Philadelphia had a lot more offensive talent than the 49ers do, so ... (

Trent Baalke says the 49ers quarterback of the future isn't presently on the roster. No surprises here, considering the only guy is David Carr. Saying the 49ers will consider trading for a quarterback expands options considerably. (

The staff search is heating up. Honestly, I've liked all of the names mentioned thus far. (

As we all know, the biggest task ahead for Jim Harbaugh will be getting the 49ers passing game going. (

The potential defensive coordinators for the 49ers have other suitors. Get 'em signed, Baalke. (

Maiocco takes a look at the 49ers free agents. We really need to get some of these guys signed. Like Manny Lawson and Aubrayo Franklin. (
