As Senior Bowl week picks up steam, 2011 NFL Mock Drafts are starting to adjust to the now constant flow of draft information. SB Nation's NFL site put together it's latest mock draft on the first day of Senior Bowl week and they've made some adjustments now that they've been able to do a little more research about some of the teams. Their latest run-through has the 49ers selecting Nebraska cornerback Prince Amukamara:

Jim Harbaugh needs a quarterback. No debate there. There is debate, however, that he'll like any of the available QB prospects this year. Amukamara fills the team's biggest secondary need with elite talent and top-notch intangibles. He's a Harbaugh guy.

Patrick Patterson is the guy everybody loves but Amukamara does not appear to be all that far behind him when it comes to cornerbacks in this year's draft. In his post yesterday, nocal81 included a poll that indicated most people thought Prince would fall to the 49ers. That doesn't necessarily mean they'd want to draft Prince.

Scouts Inc currently ranks Prince (because we're not using his last name here for now) second among cornerbacks and fifth among all draft eligible players. Drafttek ranks him the same and Draft Countdown has Prince sixth. These are just a few sites, but they go to show how highly Prince is thought of among scouts and others. If Peterson was selected already, would you be satisfied if the 49ers drafted Prince Amukamara?

I need to do some more research, but the initial look is certainly positive for Prince. I'd imagine Drew will have more on Prince in the coming months. However, in the meantime, adding a Prince to the 49ers actually makes me a bit nostalgic for the days of Prince Nassem Hamed. For those who don't know, he was a featherweight boxer who was known as much for his over the top ring entrances as he was for his fighting abilities. He was actually a solid fighter until he ran into Marco Antonio Barrera, but it was all about the spectacle with Prince Naseem.

I realize Prince Amukamara is likely a little bit different, but I am always open to an excuse to show some Prince Naseem footage. If you search for Prince Naseem entrance at YouTube you'll find plenty of video.
