Per a tweet by David White, Trent Baalke has been awarded the General Manager position of the 49ers.  Updates will surely come in fast and furious but I wanted to get this open for discussion.

This would seem to suggest that the deal for Harbaugh is close to a lock, I would think, since he was the primary candidate and has rumored to be "fine with either" Baalke or Lombardi as GM.  Harbaugh is expected to arrive in the Bay Area tonight and speak with the 49ers tomorrow, per Tim Kawakami.

Kawakami also reports that Lombardi declined to take a job in personnel under Baalke, which doesn't surprise me in the least.  I actually had thought Lombardi would get the GM gig and Baalke would stay as the main personnel man.
