So it seems that the 49ers did indeed have an interview with Hue Jackson this morning and according to Jason LaCanfora it was "Lengthy. Went very well I'm told. Made a strong impression."
That takes care of the Rooney Rule, if the 49ers decide to hire Jim Harbaugh (widely held as the favorite) or any other non-minority candidate.
The 49ers reportedly were meeting with Harbaugh at an "undisclosed location" away from team headquarters today, according to Adam Schefter.
Speaking of Jim Harbaugh...John Elway publicly reached out and stated that he'd like to speak with Harbaugh if he's considering making the leap to the NFL. Elway reportedly put in a call to Harbaugh and hopes to hear back soon. Man I'm starting to not like Elway (joke).
There was also a report that money was a sticking point between the 49ers and Harbaugh...surprise, surprise the guy who's the hottest coaching candidate of the year is taking his time awaiting the best offer he can get.
Finally, Maiocco says that the 49ers reached out to Les Snead, Atlanta Falcons Director of Player Personnel, prior to hiring Trent Baalke.
