So if let's do a quick check here. So Harbaugh wants to be a successful head coach in the NFL yes? Maybe, who knows, but I digress. If you wanted to come from college and make a statement that you are in fact a great NFL head coach, would you:
A) Choose the team that gives you solid picks in the draft, a team brimming with talent and in a place where you've already begun to raise your family?
B) A ridiculous amount of money...
Alright I'm sure there's more appeal to going to the Dolphins than just the huge amounts of money being thrown at him....like Disneyworld? But the risk he is taking, with taking over a poor team, with a little talent just because of the money? Maybe this guy really isn't interested in winning a super bowl at all. He's choosing a division where he'll have to play against the Patriots and Jets 2 times a year, and he'll be letting his brother spank him once every 3 years. Where as if he came into the Niners organization, he has a clear cut path to the playoffs every year...right Jed?
Anyways, am I disappointed about this? Yeah definitely. I was on Harbaugh watch last night like most of you. But if he wants to take that risk for that kinda money can we really blame him? Say the dolphins offered him 8 million for 5 years. He will be making 17.5 million more then he would be making with us. Did he sell his career for it? Possibly, only time will tell.
Now my only concern is, what the hell are the Niners gonna do now that nobody wants to come coach for them? "Hi....Mike? After you're done reviewing that tape of your firing you wanna come back?"
