This is one of the fun parts about writing the Caption This! I write them ahead of time. Between the time that I write them and the time they appear, things happen. Most of the time, this means very little in terms of the overall effect. It would be unfortunate if, for instance, I featured a picture of Mr. X on the Caption This!, and between the time I wrote it and the time it went active he died. That would be very unfortunate.

Luckily for me, I rarely feature pictures of Al Davis, so that probably won't ever happen.

But right now I am confronted with an interesting situation. The Caption This! is happening right in the middle of Harbaugh-Fest, and I am featuring an image of Jim Harbaugh himself. But what direction will the captions turn? We already know that Miami seems to be out of the running. But at the time of this writing... that's all we know. Has Elway gotten involved? What has Stanford offered? Has a deal been reached? Is Harbaugh a 49ers? Is he always going to be a 49ers? Has anything happened at all? Anything at all? I don't know.

I really don't.

So will captions for a Harbaugh photo be positive? Will they be negative? Will they be pretty? Will they be rich? Here's what I'll say to you: I don't know.

I really don't.

But I also couldn't resist this image. It goes against virtually all of my better judgment to use this image, too. I am risking the very classiness of this website, challenging the very restraint of you good people. But I couldn't resist it. So I'll leave you with just one request. One humble request before you hit the jump and dive headfirst into these captions: Stay classy, Niners Nation. Stay classy. I know it will be tempting to take a spin in the gutter, but I implore you to spin elsewhere.
