Golden Nuggets: Jim Harbaugh And Stuff
Good morning everyone, Ninjames here. We'll have a normal edition of the Golden Nuggets today, yesterday got some good discussion because of all of the Jim Harbaugh discussion, and I imagine it will continue on through the night. It's midnight at the time of writing this, and you can use this thread for the new discussion of Harbaugh and everything related to him until Fooch has a post at 6 a.m. At the time of writing, Harbaugh is considering both the San Francisco 49ers and the Stanford Cardinal, while Miami is no longer a potential landing spot and Denver has yet to emerge as a serious candidate. I'm leaning towards Stanford being the place for Harbaugh at this point, but nothing would surprise me. Miami could announce that he's going to coach there and I wouldn't be surprised. If news breaks between the time of writing and the very early morning, we probably won't have a post on things, I need some sleep. Enjoy the links folks, and if anything pertinent comes up in the mean time - be sure and post the links in the comments. Go Niners.
Jim Harbaugh will not be going to Miami - they've backed out and are going to stick with Tony Sparano. Poor guy. (CSNBayArea.com)
Which of course means that the 49ers are still in the hunt for him. I'm not sure to what extent, but it's still a decent chance. (PressDemocrat.com)
But he might be enticed to stay at Stanford over coming to coach the 49ers, as Andrew Luck is staying another year. Big mistake in my view. (ESPN.com)
Josh McDaniels wasn't interested in any position with San Francisco - which is good, because he was considered the alternative to Harbaugh. (PressDemocrat.com)
Here's a play-by-play of the Harbaugh shenanigans, or something not entirely unlike one. (SFGate.com)
Mike Singletary got himself a job interview in Minnesota with the Vikings, supposedly as a linebackers coach. (ProFootballTalk.com)
The 49ers are on this list of five teams that should be going after Vince Young. I guess I wouldn't be opposed to the guy if he has his head straight. (Yahoo.com)
What happened to the Jon Gruden-to-49ers talk? (CSNBayArea.com)
Offseason Q&A: Mike Iupati (49ers.com)
And with that, chiiiiildren, I need to head to bed. Site decorum is on, no gifs.

I love these Ninjames! yes i have yet to sleep...
AND HOLY @#$%, i just read EFFAGE’s comment about his hearsay story on the other thread. If that is true… this could favor Niners by ummmm…. A LOT.
EFFAGE's comment on the other thread says:
“And now it seems to be coming true
Btw, this is the most hearsay of all hearsays, but a co-worker of my dad said last night around 11:30 pm her brother called (he lives in the bay area, rest of us live in Sacramento area) excited out of his mind because he is the barber of Jim Harbaugh and Jim came in last night for a hair-cut to prepare for a press conference the next day to announce he agreed with the 49ers, though at that time the agreement was a handshake and Steve Ross was coming to give a last ditch offer. It seems that offer caused the 24 hour delay and put as where we stand now.
Believe the story or don’t (its hard to believe he said she said he said), but it is consistent with what we were hearing about the verbal/handshake agreement from yesterday… and it makes me think this was all a ploy to get the 49ers deal as high as possible."
i actually believed him. No reason to lie. But it is a crazy story.

Well if that's the case..
And Harbaugh steps to the 49ers podium with a bad hair style than the brother of the co-worker of your dad is going to lose a lot of business.. So lets hope for 2 things..
1. The story is true..
2. Harbaugh has a good haircut :)
lol
I stopped believing those stories around the time Billy Donovan's wife was shopping for horse farms in Lexington
Uggggh… As a Kentucky fan, this is all too familiar territory for me.
Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."
Once a new coach is signed...
…what will the next buzz be? And will there be any money left in the coffers?
So much money left
"Well that's something that we want. We want to be in the mix. We've been looking at this right now as compared to the NFL playoffs and I think it's probably the closest thing to what our situation is. It started last week with Oregon. We had to win, stay, and hunt for the Pac-10 championship and the same is true this week. We lose and we're out of that. We win and we're still in it. That's tough, that's like put up or shut up time like I said before. That's kind of our only mode."

Just got back from Sacramento where
the Kings destroyed the Nuggets 122-102. Tyreke is a freak on nature.

We don't need 8 in the box. We have 52 in the box.
way to go along with it.
now everyone will totally fall for it.
hint hint.
We don't need 8 in the box. We have 52 in the box.
This needs to happen tomorrow
I am driving to Anaheim to cheer on the Sharks vs. the Ducks at the Honda Center… QUACK QUACK!
I'm gonna be flying/stuck at an airport all day.....
I’m saddened that after all the time spent at the Harbaugh Threads, I won’t be there for the celebration. But things are looking up!
lol and how did Stanford become a viable option again after so many considered it toasted!
Right now..
I’m tweeting with Reggie Smith… Trying to hook him up with some new Dougie/Jerkin music so he can do his thing while he waits for the season to start up again lol
I guess everyone is asleep
i’ll continue to work waiting for your morning ^^
Hopefully we’ll have a good day tomorrow, less drama, more signing

great article on baalke
Whether or not you’re happy with the Baalke as GM selection..this is a good read and should give some hope that regardless of this enduring Harbaughcle, maybe we’re in good hands:
That's a nice article on Baalke
I think he’s got a chance to be very good and I like the fact he’s mostly home-grown. His drafts have been rock solid. Having every pick make the roster this year says a lot about the amount of detail in those later rounds. Also the fact they were first at trying to sign Lagarrett Blount was noteworthy.
If the team turns it around next year he’ll be recognized as an elite GM
often wrong. never in doubt.
haaaaaaaaaaaaaa
vince young? seriously? and people talk endless crap about alex smith on here? if they sign vince young i am done
Wasn't sure about McDaniels anyway
Rather have someone who knows how to relate to the players and have them perform as a team, that wins Super Bowls.
