This Sunday was ridiculous. I felt like the refs were conspiring to cost us that game. I saw plenty of bad spots, a touchdown pass that, according to NFL rules, should not have been a touchdown because he did not finish the completion as he was falling to the ground, yet the refs actually OVERTURNED their call on the field to give it to them. I saw Suh rip off a helmet and no one even said anything, but then we get called for accidentally doing the same thing. I saw offensive holding on Detroit that should have been called. I saw the Lions jump in towards our line, CAUSING us to false start, but we were given the penalty anyways.
I'm not one of those guys who complains about the refs every time a call goes against us. I feel like I'm usually pretty objective about what is and isn't a good call.
Plus, the head ref always seemed really happy and pleased when he called penalties on us. When they went to review our final touchdown play I thought for sure they were going to change it JUST to screw us over. But I guess that would have been too obvious and someone would have investigated their DEVIOUS PLOT!
Seriously though, I have to admit the Niners benefited a couple times from really bad calls that went our way (like that non-horse collar tackle on Gore), but for the most part the Lions were the ones reaping the rewards of this terrible refereeing. So I'm not seriously suggesting a conspiracy; but I am seriously pissed right proper about the refereeing. Someone from the NFL should be watching these games and saying, "Someone needs to lose their job" after a game like this.
Feel free to use this thread to rant and generally carry on about how bad the refs were.
