you have to agree sooner or later all niner conversation usually ends up talking alex smith. its not exactly a loved topic but it does get alot of attention from fans. so my question is what should our plan be for the qb of the future? has alex done enough to keep the starting job into the future? can kaep take the reigns as early as next season? do we draft a qb if a decent one falls to us in the draft? do we trade up in a blockbuster deal to get a potential franchise guy?, and how much is too much to pay for a franchise qb? in my opinion i think if alex plays well for the reest of the yr and playoffs we should extend him and give kaep aaron rodgers type time to develop. if the draft should come and guy like barkley or landri happens to fall in our laps do we take him?, or if its less than ten spots to move up do we trade up to get a guy like that? im always looking to improve that position and i think we always should do our due diligence in upgrading at qb. this is always a tough debate and seems like any answer will take some heat. can kaep be the guy? im not sold yet. if you were gm what would you do?
