Golden Nuggets: 49ers True Contenders Not Just In Terrible NFC West
I spent most of yesterday re-watching the game, looking at every play and every player. I've come to a couple quick conclusions that I didn't get to fit in any posts, that I figured I'd just post here in the Nuggets ... For one, Joe Staley played a lot better than I thought he did, making good blocks. People say he's slow and lacks strength, and while this is true to some extents, he made some pretty athletic plays. For two, Michael Crabtree and Joshua Morgan are exceptional blockers, and Delanie Walker has been coming into his own in that regard, as well. Anyway, I had posts at SB Nation Bay Area yesterday, two of them I've highlighted before the jump, that you should check out. The breakdowns of the sacks and the big runs are probably a bit overkill, but I'm sure somebody wants it. Anyway, on to your links for the day!

Dobbs will be active next week!!!!
Will tukuafu is hurt and playced on IR.I’m going to be excited about Dobbs and Aldon together on the field at the same time.

Dobbs will likely only play on ST...
Doubt he sees any rotation on the line, and if he does, he likely won’t have much impact.
All of our top 4 receivers are fantastic blockers. Pretty often overlooked.
Crabs has always been a very strong guy, Morgan was originally rostered for how good a blocker he is, Braylon is a big, tall physical receiver who can maul corners and VD might be the best blocking TE in football.
If only the 5 guys in front of Alex will maintain their second half performance then we’ll really have something.
Gimme 1 round!
Biking to Philly
Saw the article about the Philly beat writer saying he would ride a bike from Philly to SF if the Eagles lost. I found this: http://spikeeskin.com/2011/10/03/get-on-that-bike-dad-time-to-pay-the-piper/

Do we think that’s his real son? Interesting. He should absolutely do it. You can run across America in between two and three months if you’re a good runner (I know because two British guys have done it recently – becoming something like the 259th and 260th recorded guys to have done it), so it certainly ought to be possible to go across by bike in less time than that.
In other words, he can do it in the off-season. And if he’s an Eagles fan, he knows now that the off-season will begin a bit earlier than they probably expected when they put together their, ahem, dream team …
As full of hot air as he is
…he could just float across the states like a bloated turkey eagle.
Justin Smith is something else. 100% Effort! 100% Class!
"I was just running toward the ball," Smith said. "The guys in front of him were making him slow up a little bit. I just went for the ball and, luckily, it was there."

You couldn't find one article about
Bret Favre?
It’s not to late to have a drink.
A pie can be divided into many pieces. For MOST people the goal is to get as many pieces of that pie as possible. It is my goal to eat the WHOLE pie.
Just wanted to say nice one on the breakdowns James. Very interesting for people like me who don’t often get to watch the game, as it’s stuff that often doesn’t get as far as the highlights online. Helps to understand how the team played as a whole as they tend to be pretty much unbiased.
Anyway, cheers! gets me through a boring Tuesday morning at work.
To paraphrase a current fast food commercial:
Exactly what part of the news is the nugget?
That would be the Red and Gold part!

I had no idea that Harbaugh traveled first class while the players did not. What is this? England in the 1950s? How incredibly unegalitarian, for a team in arguably the most egalitarian league in arguably the most egalitarian country in the world. Odd.
I just don't know how those line men can fit into a Coach seat
they must give them two seats each. Of course, the Irony of this is that most of the starters probably travel First Class when they are not flying to or from a game.

No Respect
I heard one sportscaster say the 49ers are 4 and 1 because they play in the weak NFL West. What a jerk. the 49ers have only played 1 game in their division.
