Golden Nuggets: Back In Action Just In Time For 49ers-Bucs
Good morning folks, Ninjames here back with your Golden Nuggets after a couple days "off." In reality, there's been an awful lot going on with my living situation and internet connectivity, but I'm back and ready to get you good folks your news - and just in time to get my credential for Sunday as well, so I'll be reporting live again. I'll also be expecting Sam Lam to deliver unto me carrot cake, in exchange for linking him highly in the Nuggets.
In reality, his content is good, and that's why it's at the top - but if I can extort some carrot cake (or really any delicious consumable), I'll be sure to do it. I'll probably swing a lemonade out of him as well, there's no point in making a deal if you're not going to sleaze your way into getting more. Anyway, onto the 49ers links for the day, folks.

Good luck for the english from NN for the last ten minutes.
I hope it’s your last ten minutes for this world cup :)
Proud Night Owl
Tyrell Sutton, Dimitri Nance and Jalen Parmele
Nance had a cup of coffee with the Packers and Parmele was with the Ravens for a bit.
To me the bigger story is why are they unhappy with Dixon which is becoming more obvious. The link this morning says that they’ve asked him to pick up his play and that Harbaugh has talked to him about talking smack to the other teams sideline.
I love Dixon!!!!
His energy alone is like wow!!! Im a season ticket holder so i get to see him every home game when the cameras are not on him, and ill tell you what, he is always, always jumping up and down, telling the crowd to get up, waving his arms in the air (like he just dont care) even for just a kick off….
I follow him on Twitter and he seems to be a bit of a clown but i cant knock his energy and ability to get the fans on there feet for no reason at the game..

I like Dixon too
He’s just infectious with his pumped up style and energy. Though I gotta say, I like him more as a cheerleader than a running back…which is a shame. Hope he picks his game up and focuses a bit more on technique. Would be nice to keep him around.
Shaun o'hara
I was looking at free agents in madden and o’hara wass out there. I was wondering is if he was injured or just not able to play anymore.
I would he has to go an upgrade over most centers out there, possibly even ours?

Two answers from Joshua Morgan that explain a lot between this year and last:
Q: Alex Smith seems to be taking advantage of blitzes well. Have you seen that?
MORGAN: Yeah, most definitely. That’s another big difference from last year. Last year we had so much going on, so much that they put on Alex’s mind, that when it came to the blitz instead of this year. We don’t have to cut our routes shorter or anything. We don’t have to do nothing. We’ve just got to let Alex find the weak spot like he always does, and attack where the weak spot is.
Q: You’re saying that’s built into the offense?
MORGAN: Yeah, everything’s built in. Last year we were breaking off routes. They had too many people trying to read the blitz. Sometimes we would get it wrong and sometimes we would get it right, but when you’ve got other people trying to do the quarterback’s job then you’ve got miscommunication. He was holding the ball because he didn’t really know what we were going to do, and vice versa. But this year everything is everything. You just run your route and let Alex figure it out.
Keeping it simple works so much better.
LaVar Arrington on Bowman
* Bowman is a gifted athlete – he was also a running back and punter in high school – but Arrington stressed his off-the-charts instincts. And he did so quite colorfully, invoking Jason from the "Friday the 13th" movies.

Not Raw James, NOT raw, never was Raw, Has never looked Raw, he was Cooked upon conception!
He was insanely raw and 100% awful last season. There is NO dispute to that. I feel like you're joking, obviously, but yeah.
Last year, you could watch him and predict when he was going to mess up. He was HORRIBLE.
But, as I said, I expected great things out of him and called him the best pick in a very long time. You can look that up really easily.
And then God created Saturn ... and he liked it, so he put a ring on it. ... Always a ninja

There are gitters/nerves/mistakes and then there's raw
If you’re going off just seeing him in a few plays in his rookie year, then you’ve been severely duped. During camp in his rookie year he was getting some comparisons to Willis. Over his COLLEGE CAREER he has always had the athleticism and instincts to that translate over to the NFL.
I feel like we’re on different pages when it comes to defining rawness.
Here’s my example: Brian Orakpo vs. Everette Brown
Despite Orakpo being the rawer of the two, his pure-talent has allowed him to be successful right from the get-go in the NFL.
Brown however, displayed more instincts and an array of moves, has struggled because he doesn’t have the NFL build to play his position.
:
You really cannot change my mind on this. It's not "a few plays in his rookie year"
He got substantial playing time and looked very raw. Coupled with Takeo Spikes’ high level of play, I was apprehensive about him starting. And again, there are posts from me on DRAFT DAY talking about how this is the best pick we’ve made in a long time. Look it up.
Oh, and then look it up where, before this season began, I went back on my statement and talked about how he was poised for a big year. Yeah. So I don’t know what you’re trying to get across to me, since my stance is “great pick, great decision to play him.”
And then God created Saturn ... and he liked it, so he put a ring on it. ... Always a ninja

That's why I went the Orakpo route, because I know you're not saying he's a bad player
just don’t understand how you could claim he’s raw.
Raw is not being ready. He was not ready in his first year and I was apprehensive about his readiness this year.
That is the exact definition of raw. Not ready. Not done. Not cooked. Whatever. His rookie season was the very definition of raw, because he came in and screwed everything up every time he was out there. Pretty darn simple.
And then God created Saturn ... and he liked it, so he put a ring on it. ... Always a ninja

No there's a difference between not being ready
due to getting acclimated in a new system, with a new team, fighting to get time against the best MIKE and TED in the league and not having the skill set to play.
When he was out there, he looked terrible. It wasn't just the system and the team.
Sorry but I saw him one-on-one multiple times, simple, and I saw him get beat bad. Badly. He got juked and I saw it from a mile away. That’s not scheme. That’s not his team. That’s a guy being raw.
You have a raw chicken. It’s full of flavor. But it’s not ready. It’s raw.
You have Bowman. He’s athletic and showed great stuff in college. But during his rookie year, he wasn’t ready. He was raw.
This is a literal definition of a word. Part of being raw in football is also not grasping the system and not able to break the starting lineup. When Spikes left, it was very easy to be apprehensive about Bowman, considering how bad he looked in year one. That’s called being raw.
And then God created Saturn ... and he liked it, so he put a ring on it. ... Always a ninja

Dixon
seems like a guy who doesn’t get it. while he has plenty of moves and plenty of big energy, he seems to be unable to pick up the game. he hasn’t fixed his dancing problems and hasn’t shown any considerable improvement in protection.
what’s worse is that he (should have) knew that these are his limitations and did not address them in the offseason. if the guy can’t adjust to change in the NFL, he’ll not be a contributor to this team.
as much as it sucks to say (because I like him as does most of NN), he’s probably better suited to play in a different environment.
