49ers Vs. Redskins Inactive List: Ray McDonald Sits, Roy Helu Starting For Redskins At RB
The San Francisco 49ers and Washington Redskins released their week nine inactive lists, and as expected, LDE Ray McDonald is inactive. He was never able to get over the hamstring strain from last week and will sit out today's game. Ricky Jean Francois will start in his place, with Demarcus Dobbs backing up RJF and Justin Smith. Ian Williams will be active as the backup nose tackle.
The big news for the Redskins is that Roy Helu will get the start over Ryan Torain at running back. Torain is not inactive so unfortunately we can't say he became the first running back this season to suffer an injury because of the 49ers defense but before actually playing the 49ers defense. It will be interesting to see how the 49ers handle this bit of a curve ball Mike Shanahan is throwing at them at the last minute.
Fred Davis will be in the Redskins lineup at tight end and Trent Williams appears to be back in the lineup after dealing with an ankle injury the last couple weeks. Here are your week nine inactives:
49ers' inactive players: QB Scott Tolzien, WR Brett Swain, CB Shawntae Spencer, FBMoran Norris, OL Mike Person, OL Daniel Kilgore and DE Ray McDonald.
Redskins' inactives players: FS Oshiomogho Atogwe, WR Santana Moss, RB Tashard Choice, LB Markus White, DL Darrion Scott, OL Willie Smith, WR Donte' Stallworth

Niners definitely need to implement the outside runs today
Our WR’s should just completely manhandled the Redskins midget corners
Shawntae Spencer....wow, how the mighty have fallen.
Spencer was listed as the starter in the preseason, but his injury has almost derailed his whole season to date…. Am I missing something? Did he get hurt again or is he just out of the loop.
I don’t see Norris being active anytime soon, not while Miller is healthy.
Mighty? Does mighty = sucking at coverage and tackling?
He practiced all week, he’s just behind Cully and Brock.

Rookie offense v Stout Niner Defense
Rookie RBs and WRs with a Less-than-average QB makes for a good day to be a Niner fan.
I don't have a pen.
David Baas Update
I see that David Baas is out of the New York Giants lineup for today’s game with a knee injury. While I hope we all wish him well, it makes the decision to let him walk in free agency by 49ers management and coaches look better and better, as his downside has been frequent injuries, especially legs, throughout his career.

I have moved to Beaverton OR and want to change my name to “Bob In Beaverton”. Some of you guys change your names every couple of weeks, so I’m sure it can be done. Where do I go and how do I do it?
Thanks in advance.
One disadvantage of being here is having Seahawks games instead of the Niners, but I did pick up The Red Zone. The advantage is that I can afford the rent here. I got lousy reception living under that bridge in the Bay Area.
but then I have a reading problem...

That name might be a little too naughty

Well, I'm a geezer
but I did apply to Match.com and you’d be surprised how many geezerettes are out there looking around. I guess the lesson is that if you stick around long enough for the herd to thin then you reap the rewards.

Mooch is cracking me up breaking down the Soap catch on the NFL Net
“HE RAN OUT OF BOUNDS! HE’S 300 POUNDS! HE NEEDS TO RUN OVER THAT CORNERBACK!”
I think it was a good decision
No need in chancing a DB chopping you at the knee, taking you out for the rest of the season…I mean he IS our best NT and fullback lol

Come on
You’re saying a corner who weighs 175 pounds less than Soap is going to take out his knee?
by KD1 on Nov 6, 2011 9:48 AM PST up reply actions
If Soap is running straight up like he was
all the DB has to do is dive at his knee, not that hard to comprehend

Run his ass over
That little guy ain’t doing any damage to him.

Have you never seen a smaller guy try to tackle a bigger guy?
They almost NEVER try to take them on up high, instead they dive at the legs, and being smaller/shorter, it would be easier for the DB to get lower and accomplish that. With that being said, getting an 18 yard gain and first down was good enough, no need for anything else.

I want to see Soap on a halfback option. Didn't he play rugby in high school?
