2012 NFL Pro Bowl Ballot Results: Patrick Willis, Andy Lee Leading With Three Weeks Remaining

Fooch's Note: MM has a rundown of the top five at each position. Jonathan Goodwin, Bruce Miller, Justin Smith, David Akers and Blake Costanzo are all second at their respective positions.

There are three weeks remaining in fan voting for the 2012 NFL Pro Bowl and the 49ers have a pair of players leading the vote. Patrick Willis leads inside linebackers and Andy Lee leads among punters. The final roster is determined by a combination of fan, player and coach balloting.

While the Pro Bowl does not necessarily tell us who the best players are in the league, it is a great recognition for players. Every possible award is another sign of a job well done. Of course, in an ideal world the 49ers would not be able to participate in the Pro Bowl because they would be playing the following week in the Super Bowl. I'm not going to hold my breath, but a man can hope!

The 49ers have numerous players worthy of Pro Bowl recognition this season. Cornerback Carlos Rogers comes to mind. Defensive end Justin Smith should be a lock for this team but is easily overlooked by non-49ers fans. I suspect he'll get plenty of support in the player and coach voting and end up on the team. The fan vote only counts for a third of the balloting, but the more votes we can get for deserving 49ers, the better.
