VIDEO: Rams at 49ers, 2010
Here are game highlights from the 49ers game last year, where they faced the visiting St. Louis Rams at Candlestick Park. Even though there are a lot of differences from last years team, there is value in viewing this game. Things to watch may be the 49ers pass rush against the Rams offensive line, Anthony Davis vs. Chris Long and the Niners wide receivers against the STL secondary. Vernon Davis and Frank Gore's performances and problems they present are also worth a look. Enjoy.

It's going to be interesting to see if the 49ers use anything that worked for the 2010 team to benefit the 2011 campaign. The tight ends really worked well against the Rams; mismatches were exploited and it kept the chains moving. If Davis and Delanie Walker have one of those days that call for less blocking, it could mean an ariel assault on the Rams secondary.

Interesting video...
A few threads back, some guys were talking about the 40 yard bombs downfield, and if Alex Smith ever did them. In the first video here, He has a beautiful 40 yarder to Josh Morgan. I think he can throw that pass if he gets enough time in the pocket, but how often does he get that these days?
Didn't Alex have a 40 yard TD bomb to Crabtree against the Packers?

Remember that game… 2 years ago?
That’s what I’m hopin’ for this weekend. A resounding, defensively stifling game. yea…
Uh, no.
Why would you want our offense to look like [site decorum]?
But defense, yes.

Haha I remember
Our offense basically did nothing all game but we still blew them out because of three (I think) defensive touchdowns
If you're watching a blowout, you can pass the time by counting the double teapots.
Samurai Champloo > Macross
2 defensive TD's and a special teams TD.
Willis pick-6, McDonald fumble return TD, and McKillop fumble-in-endzone-on-a-punt TD.

golly
Man he sure did look good in this game.
Troy Smith
Man did he ever suck…………….but then again he had 2.5 games where he looked like the second coming of Steve Young

Troy Smith was simply fun to watch, I have to say
Wondering how he’s doing with the Omaha Nighthawks.
Interesting reveations here
One. I almost forgot how valuable Frnk Gore is out of the backfield. Very Faulkesque. Why we don’t throw the ball to Frank on check downs is hard to figure out. He’s done this for years, and with our lsck of depth at WR you would figure Frank gets more checks. IOnly concept I come up with is Hrbaugh keeps Frank in the backfield on pass plays for extra pass protection.
Two. I really wish we wuld have retained Travis LaBoy. He was perfect for our team. Physicsal, big, relentless.
Three. I think we could have went to the playoffs last year if not for the 3,000 penalties, and 100 TDs clled back. Anthony Davis was UNBELIEVABLE.
Four. We should have also held on to Davis Baas. He was just staring to find his stride. We could have especially put him back at RG, and still signed Goodwin.
