I see people on Niners Nation pointing out all of these statistics that say he is such a great quarterback and I just don't see it. When I watch him play, I just never say to myself, "that Alex is a phenomenal quarterback. I'm glad he's on our team, and I hope we can get him to sign with us next year because we could never win without him." Alex doesn't inspire that in me and I don't understand some of the rabid loyalists that are always defending him.
To be fair the man is tough and resilient. I admire alot of his qualities. I don't think he is a bad quarterback. I could never play as good as him. But I think we can do better. I would like to see the 49ers get a better quarterback. I know his recievers aren't giving him much help, but it's on him too. Our passing game is terrible. It's not decent, it's terrible. If it was only the recievers, or it was only the linemen and the recievers, we would have won that game. The truth is, the pass blocking is horrible, the recievers are average, and the quarterback isn't much better. He was shown up by John Skelton for G's sake. The Cardinals don't have a good run game or offensive line. If we can't at least force defenses to respect our passing game, it's going to be a short post-season for the 49ers.
