49ers Vs. Steelers Inactives: Ben Roethlisberger Active, Joe Staley, Daniel Kilgore Active

The San Francisco 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers both released their Week 16 inactives for Monday Night Football and as many expected, Ben Roethlisberger is active and starting. He is hobbled and is wearing an ankle brace and plenty of tape on the ankle. It will be interesting to see how the 49ers make him aware of their presence. He was reportedly struggling to move in pregame warm-ups so it will be interesting to see how it plays out over four quarters.

Joe Staley is active for tonight's game, but what is particularly interesting is that Daniel Kilgore is active for the first time this season. This could be due to a variety of reasons, the two most prominent being some concerns about Staley and/or concerns about guard play leaving the team wanting a backup option in case of struggles. It will be interesting to see if Kilgore is just a precautionary active.

49ers: LB Patrick Willis, WR Braylon Edwards, QB Scott Tolzien, CB Tramaine Brock, FB Moran Norris, G Mike Person, NT Ian Williams

Steelers: LB James Harrison, CB Curtis Brown, C Maurkice Pouncey, LB Chris Carter, DE Al Woods, T Jamon Meredith, WR Emmanuel Sanders

Is Kilgore a guard or center ?

Maybe Harbaugh intends to use him in short yardage situations as the extra blocker?

Tackle/Guard/Center.

He was a tackle in college but Harbaugh wants to move him inside.

Holy c____ I can’t believe Roethlisberger is player. Watching ESPN show him gimping around warming up. Just don’t understand him doing that, fierce competitor or just stupid?

Yeah, he isn't gonna make it through.

I don’t care… he’s done nothing but drop passes. And there may not be “lot of football left”. We may only have 3 games left.

I want him out of SF.. that may seem a bit harsh now, but we can do better than Edwards.

I really hope our guys finish sacks.

Seemed like like week they would collapse the pocket but stop just short of getting to Skelton.

Nahh it's not about him being tough.

It was just simply our defense did a great job collapsing the pocket, but it was always just a bit short of a sack. Frustrating to be so close every time but never get there ya know?

Either he’s still not 100% healed or he’s in the dog-house.
