2011-2012 NCAA Bowls: Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl - St. Petersburg
For the past two years, I have covered a majority of the Bowl Game action. This year Fooch and I will be switching off in the coverage is it is quite a bit for one person to take on fully.
Since there is only one game this evening, this game thread should be relatively short and to the point. The reason (for those of you who are new to the site) that we do Bowl coverage, is so that when draft time comes around, the knowledge of some of these players for a lot of you will be there. It's also to speculate and talk about some of these players and how they may fit in to the NFL.
Time: 5pm PST, 8pm EST
Channel: ESPN, ESPN3.com
Make the jump to find out what players could make an impact in tonight's game between The (8-4) Florida International Golden Panthers and The (6-6) Marshall Thundering Herd.
Key players for Marshall:
Tron Martinez (Sophomore RB) - Jersey No. 2
Aaron Dobson (Junior WR) - Jersey No. 3
Vinny Curry (Senior LB) - Jersey No. 99
Omar Brown (Senior FS) - Jersey No. 31
_______________________________________________________________________________________________
Key Players for Florida International:
Kedrick Rhodes (Sophomore RB) - Jersey No. 9
T.Y. Hilton (Senior WR) - Jersey No. 4
Wayne Times (Junior WR) - Jersey No. 5
_______________________________________________________________________________________________
Summary: The top two NFL prospects of this game will most likely be senior linebacker Vinny Curry for Marshall, whose stock has recently plummeted a bit through the course of the season, and senior wide receiver for Florida International, who holds most of the schools receiving records T.Y. Hilton who could wind up being a late round draft pick if he has a solid outing tonight. The Golden Panthers are favored heading in to the game but both teams have shown the capability to put up some points at various times throughout the year. This game has the makings to be a high scoring shootout... but it's also quite possible that Florida International could run away with it early on. Marshall will have to beat the Golden Panthers on T.O.P. if they want a shot at upsetting.

Drew, any good OLBs we can look at in rounds 3-4?
I think Brooks walks, and Grant re-signs on a team-friendly deal to play OLB.
Alex Smith 86%+ QB rating with 22+ TDs this season, hopefully! :)
and generally?
That you really like.

Even thought his stock has fallen lately, I really like his potential under Harbaugh in
Brandon Jenkins out of Florida State… he would probably be in that 3rd Round range somewhere. Maybe Jack Crawford (Penn State) or Donte Paige-Moss (North Carolina) as well.

This is one of the worst bowl names ever, but not THE worst
If you're watching a blowout, you can pass the time by counting the double teapots.

Vinny Curry's draft stock fell? Where's he projected roughly at now?
He still made quite a few All-American lists I think. Dude is a pretty damn good DE.
Marshall is my alma mater, so I’m just glad to actually get a chance to talk to them to somebody outside of Huntington for a change.

4th Roundish probably would be my guess

Sounds about right
They were blowing him up last year around here saying he could have been late second early third.

This is about right
He’s been blown up lately at places like MTD all the way up to the second, but that’s a bit unrealistic.

The Hawaii bowl has sold a grand total of 10 tickets to Nevada fans.
Not sure how many people total is going to attend but I just read that last year it was under 500.

Its embarassing after we sent 35k to SF last year in the Kraft Bowl.
I was planning to go to any bowl game Nevada was heading to but Hawaii is way out of my price range. 2k for plan tickets……………………………..
