San Francisco Is A Team Built For The Playoffs...
After watching the MNF game between the Niners & Steelers, I am convinced the former is the team to be reckoned with. None of the top contenders have seen a defense like the Niners. San Francisco is a team built for the playoffs. The defense is solid like steel, a formidable bunch of toughies, "Patrick Willis and The Shock and Awe Gang". The secondary is also "becoming" more of a physical group of defenders inflicting punishing blows to the recipient of the football (shows flashes of the Ronnie Lott, Dwight Hicks and the Hot Licks era). The offense is like a train, Alex the operator and Gore the locomotive. If the offensive line protects Alex the way they did against the Steelers, there is no doubt in my mind that they will go all the way to the Super Bowl… and take it all. The two losses (to Baltimore & Arizona) were mostly due to the poor protection by the offensive line… something like 16 sacks combined? So, if they can protect, we can collect… it’s simple as that. The "Architect" definitely knows what he’s doing… he talks the talk and walks the walk.
"Could" we be seeing another Niners dynasty in the making?

Think you've gotten a little ahead of yourself
-- I have many leather-bound books.
-- You show me a guy that can’t juggle 3 tennis balls within an hour and I’ll show you a guy that’s not going to be in the NFL very long.

Good post
I definitely feel we are a touph team heading into the post season. Our defense can stimey any offense in th league. If Alex gets time as you statedm and we can get Gore back to those 100 yard outings, w will be touph to beat. Patrick Willis, and Braylon Edwards healthy after the bye will be big too. I hope Ted Gin will be ok. And I would like to see if Shawntae Spencer could contribute too.
don't know what makes
a defensive oriented team more conducive to success in the playoffs over the regular season..
time and time again it has been proven
defense wins championships
Good combo's and offenses have before too..
It’s a total team effort no matter how you chop it up to get to the Superbowl and win it.

very true.
I believe it can be done with either a great offense with a defense forcing lots of turnovers or a great defense with an offense that doesn’t commit many turnovers.

Proves nothing.
Reverse has happened too…
Steelers (defensive) beat the Cardinals (offensive) SBXLIII
Pittsburgh (defensive) beat the Seahawks (offensive) SBXL
Giants (defensive) beat the Patriots (offensive) SBLII
Tampa Bay (defensive) beat the Raiders (offensive) SBXXXVII

The biggest example was Pats D over the Greatest show on Turf.
Or lets go NFC championship game. Highest scoring team ever Vikings vs Falcons. D-E-F-E-N-C-E wins in the playoffs
Gimme 1 round!

Like the Pats over the Greatest Show on Turf.
Like the Giants over the 18-1 Pats… Like the 94 Niners with Deion finally beat the Cowgirls
Gimme 1 round!

A combination of defense, offense and special teams wins championships. In no particular order.
As I always say before the game: “If you can win the turnover battle, be successful in the red zone, win the field position battle, convert consistently on third downs, control the clock, outhustle them on defense and make big plays in the clutch, then you’ve got a pretty good chance of winning the game.”
I think you actually have the order correct right there.
Defense, offense, then special teams.
Gimme 1 round!
