Golden Nuggets: Conference Title Games

Back for another day of the Nuggets. Saturday's are normally a big college football day, but this week things slow back down. There are conference championship games and a few other games, but based on the current BCS rankings, they don't have quite the pizzaz that we might normally have. But hey, a playoff would ruin an LSU-Georgia game that likely will have no impact on whether LSU gets into the national title game, wouldn't it?

Thankfully our 49ers are close to securing their own playoff berth. While the on-field stuff is important, there is some important off the field news. We'll have more details later in the morning, but for now, Cam Inman is reporting the 49ers and the city of Santa Clara have come to an agreement with three major banks to secure $850 million in loans to begin construction of the team's new stadium. That's a huge step forward in getting a new stadium built. On to the links.
