49ers Vs. Cardinals Injury Report: Patrick Willis, Carlos Rogers Sit Out Practice
Fooch's Update: MM tweeted Rogers injury is not serious and he is expected to play on Sunday.
The San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals both released their Wednesday practice participation reports and the 49ers had an unexpected appearance. Cornerback Carlos Rogers showed up as a DNP with a knee issue. Rogers was apparently at practice offering advice, but had his left knee wrapped. The one plus was that he was reportedly walking without a limp.
There was no mention of Rogers having any issues leading up to today, so we will have to wait and see how this plays out on Sunday. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio will talk to the media tomorrow and likely be asked about it, but I doubt he provides any information on the injury. I remember Tramaine Brock coming on the field at one point on Sunday after an injury, but I don't think it was too Rogers.
If Rogers is unable to go, the starting corners become Tarell Brown and Chris Culliver. Tramaine Brock would seemingly elevate to the third corner, with Shawntae Spencer active once again. You never want to lose the number one cornerback, particularly with Larry Fitzgerald coming up, but it is at least an opportunity to get more snaps to the backups.

Maybe this week let Carlos heal up & be ready for Steelers?
I think Shawntee Spencer or Brock could fill in for Carlos…no sense pushing our best C.B. if rest will heal up his knee.
Good new from MM.
Injury is not serious. He is expected to play Sunday in 49ers game at Cardinals.

heard today about the severity of level two strains (Patrick's injury) from a college trainer
typically they take atleast three weeks to fully heal.
100% agree
and I think we can beat the remaining teams on our schedule without him. Well besides Pitt of course, we will miss him in that game (not saying we cant beat them though)
the diagnosis is 3-6 weeks
guess he won’t be back in full force until the playoffs
that's speculation...
from a doctor who simply heard it was a grade 2 strain.

Not too worried.
Larry Grant came in and did extremly well. If he an d Bowman held steven jackson to under 30yards this benie wells thing shouldn’t be too hard. Overall I now see great depth at our LB position and lets not forget we have Gooden and Costanzo waiting to go too but I’m pleased with Grant he seems down hill and a stick em type of guy. I say rest willis till he’s 100%. No point in risking further injury when we will be playing in january regardless.
