Good day to all my niner loving friends. Let me begin by thanking you for letting me change the topic for just a moment, to talk about something near to the hearts of many a football fan. Beer.
It has just come to my attention that there is a very exciting and unique event descending upon the streets of San Francisco as we speak...SF Beer Week 2011. While I am utterly unaffiliated with any of the events related to this extravaganza, I wanted to share it with all of you. As a sort of toast, if you will, to our common bonds; 49ers and beer. Meet me after the jump.
I am a bartender and brewers assistant in Portland Oregon. I've been faithfully following the niners for my entire life (even while living in...Dallas...boooo), and have still never been to San Francisco. While my ideal initial visit would be to see the red and gold, I wouldn't mind coming to experience the swelling beer community that currently thrives there. Maybe next year?
As one who loves to talk about and taste many various styles of beer, I'd love to get to know some of you and the beers that you love most from your home state. Tell me about your experience during SFBeer week and what events you went to.
And, just for fun...invent a beer! I've come up with a few names recently in a golden nuggets post. I thought they were pretty clever, so I will share again:
Wm Perry Refrigerator Stout
Double Chocolate Joey Porter
Darrel Green Non Alcoholic Lager
Peyton Pilsner
Big Ben’s Dickens Cider
Plaxico’s Half- Step Half- Wit
49ers 1984 Dubbel
49ers 1988 Trippel
49ers 1989 Royal Belgian Quad
49ers 1994 Lights Out Barleywine
49ers 2011 Wishful Thinking Winter Warmer
Austin Collie Pale Ale
Chris Henry RIP IPA
T.O. Poppin Pilsner
Keisel's Bearded Brown
Thanks again for letting me change the subject for just a moment, as the offseason just can't end fast enough.
Cheers!
