Von Miller

Texas A&M's Von Miller intercepts a pass from UT quarterback Garrett Gilbert in the fourth quarter at Royal-Memorial Stadium on Thursday Nov. 25, 2010.

Von Miller had a strong showing at the combine. He measured in at 6'2 5/8" and 246 pounds, did 21 reps of 225, had a 37" vertical and 10'6" broad jump, and had unofficial 40 times of 4.46 and 4.53.

As a Texas A&M fan I have had the pleasure of watching Miller develop into a beast on the field. He started out as a 4-3 DE and led the nation in sacks in 2009 with 16.5. When the team switched to 3-4 in 2010, he was moved to OLB. A high ankle sprain hindered the start of the season but when it healed he blew up and managed to get 11 sacks for the season. The secondary was a weak point for the Aggies' defense (sounds familiar) and his ability to pressure the QB was key in a successful 2010 campaign for Texas A&M. His outstanding play in 2010 earned him the Butkus Award and despite all the national attention, he remains humble.

I am a strong supporter of the Niners picking him up with the #7 pick and know that there are many here who do not share my opinion. Aside from the argument that CB is a higher priority, I would like to know what reservations, if any, people have with the 49ers picking him up in the first.

His college stats and a highlight video are posted after the jump.
