Niners Needs

It is pretty clear what our number one need is guys ... Qb! However this draft doesn't really have a stud qb to go after like Bradford or luck and the cba not being signed could screw us for a trade.

If the cba is signed ... Try to trade for orton with our second or trade a fourth for josh Johnson as a possible stop gap. I don't like kolb due to him being unproven and his bad stats or Carson who is not a great fit with the WCO.

If cba is not signed before march 3 ... Lock up Alex smith for a year. I know some may not like this, but if the deal isn't done march 3rd it might not get done until September and then we would be screwed.

Second major need - corner
Clements is not bad, but nothing is guaranteed that he will take a pay cut. Spencer was horrible last year and brown is only a decent nickel back ... I might even say dime back. We really need a corner! I like resigning Nate and getting a good young guy to play him with.

Third major need - fullback
A bit of a surprise here but for jims system we need a punishing fb and franks buddy Moran Norris just isn't getting it done. Use our second fourth rounder on Owen marecic and let's call it a day.

Fourth major need - outside lb
I didn't put it as third because we didn't do that bad with a olb by committee and we could probably get away with it again.

Draft (as if cba is not signed)
1 - Peterson or Von Miller ... I know Von contradicts the above but he is the bpa and no other position gets us bang for our buck
2 - Jimmy smith or Brandon Harris (hopefully one of these corners drops) or else QB Ponder if Jim really likes him altho his injuries scare me
3 - olb best available if not picked or Andy Dalton if no qb picked or a cb
4 - owen marecic ... Love him!
4 - Simone fua ... Love him and think the stanford dads want some Stanford boys

What do you think?
