Interesting info on Cam Newton

I was trolling around the Buffalo Bills' SB nation page and came across an article that pretty much sums up my opinion of Cam Newton.

I'll just hit on a few points that raise red flags with me.

I am against getting Cam Newton for a variety of reasons. In the article, the points are made that he had one year of success in a "dumbed down" offense where only one or two reads are needed to be made. This alone, along with only one year of real success screams one-hit wonder to me.

Another issue I have with him is the whole circus and baggage that would come with the drafting of somebody like this. His dad is FAR too involved with him, and needs to back off. He seems to relish the limelight more than the game itself, which to me is NOT somebody to build a team around.

His recent "icon" and "entertainer" comments raised another red flag with me, which is essentially backing up what I said above.

Upon watching him play, he reminded me of a Vince Young type with his style of play. I remember being 13 and not liking Vince Young for these same reasons above.

That being said, if somebody can make him into something, then power to them. But let's NOT have that team be the Niners.

As far as QB's go, I'd like Christian Ponder, or Colin Kaepernick. Both QB's are accurate, mobile, and have a good skill set for the West Coast Offense. Christian Ponder's senior bowl performance put him on my radar, with his throwing and mobility. Colin Kaepernick has intrigued me with his skill set as well, and he is mobile.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors.
