NFL Draft 2011: Bill Parcells Big Board And 49ers GM Trent Baalke
Over the last day or so, some of you have referenced Bill Parcells big board that was discussed on ESPN's "Bill Parcells' Draft Confidential." During the show, the cameras caught Parcells Big Board in the background and thanks to the power of DVR, the folks at Pats Pulpit were able to pinpoint various players on the board. Head over to PatsPulpit.com to check out some of Parcells round by round thoughts on players by position.
This big board is likely going to be of particular interest to 49ers fans because of the previous working relationship of Baalke and Parcells. It's been a long time since Baalke worked for Parcells, but some indications are that they are still really close. Obviously this doesn't mean Baalke necessarily views certain players the same way as Parcells. After all, two Football Ops guys can be the best of friends but disagree significantly on specific players. Parcells ranks Prince Amukamara ahead of Patrick Peterson. There is nothing to indicate Baalke ranks him the same way.
Instead, this is just one more little puzzle piece that may or may not fit in to predicting the 49ers plans for the upcoming draft. While this is evidence of something, it could be a red herring in regards to the 49ers draft plans. Of course, that's not going to stop us from loading up on as many possible clues as we can find. We know what we think the team's needs are, and some of them are needs the team will see as well. However, like anything else we've heard over the last three months, it will be interesting to see how much of what he hear is just hot air and what proves to be right.

Is he legally qualified to be president of the 49ers? I wanna see his Birth Certificate

Rec. I don’t think we’re allowed to talk politics here but when someone brilliantly satirises a very topical news story, that’s got to be allowed.

Even more amazing they don't even have Houston or Reed on their big board
Kellen Moore is awesome
Katie Mcgrath is our savior
Im not competitive I just addicted to winning.
Yea Bill Parcells "accidently" left his big board up on ESPN
I trust Parcells as far as I can throw him, so I don’t trust him while I’m looking right at him.
He’s just crafty enough to actually put names up there to try and throw people off his guys.
He’s got three Picks 17-33 and he knows some of the other coaches look up to him. If there’s a chance he can throw one guy off, and it gets him his player…I wouldn’t put any elaborate stunt past him.

Belichik, dang it I was thinking Belichik. Why do I get those two mixed up? Parcells, yea the Dolphins left that out. I can see that. Thanks Manraj

Is he still working for Miami? I tried looking it up, but all I could find was that he took a leave of absence in 2010.

He is no longer with Miami, he left football according to reports early this year. Also his name is no longer in Miami Dolphins web page.
Joe and Steve were under the same system for years... don't expect ___?__ to be super so soon. Alex Smith is no longer expected to do much for this team in the future... on to the next one!!
I love the exchange of comments right at the top of the comments section in that Pats Pulpit story you linked to, Fooch. I think the Patriots fans are having a stupid competition over there.

No really huge surprises on this.
Maybe the biggest ones are he has Jimmy Smith and Liuget in the 2nd round. We already knew he knows nothing about QBs so Kaepernick being a 3rd on his board doesn’t concern me
Gimme 1 round!
I wouldn't give to much credence to whom was on the board ...
… what was great was all the insight given , the process ,evaluation and the amount of time that goes into the draft …!!
I'm your " Huckelberry "...it's just my game ...Jimmy Raye your no daisy ...!!
He's got Nate Irving as a 1st round prospect
in other draft sites they have him as a 4th or 5th round draft pick. Could he be like Bowman, and be a steal in the later rounds. I wonder where he ranks in Baalke’s draft board
"I hate it! It looks like a stickup at 7-Eleven. Five guys standing there with their hands in the air."
Norm Sloan
"We have a great bunch of outside shooters. Unfortunately, all our games are played indoors."
Weldon Drew
I don't put a ton of stock in what Parcell's has to say.
He was primarily a defensive minded coach. He got lucky with drafting Bledsoe and now thinks he’s a QB guru or something.

That was an unrelated side not to the actual content of the article.

Bledsoe was a can’t miss so that still doesn’t win points with me. Good eye for defense and offensive lines
